It is in the spirit of the world being Gatsby mad at the moment. The 1920s had some fantastic music for sampling and the track I sampled here appeared in the theatre version of the Great Gatsby that I saw at Wilton's; the oldest surviving grand music hall. 

It has some real sentimental value this song and it is dedicated to my beautiful girlfriend.

My mashup remake of Flashlight by Parliament. I upgraded the drums to make them land on a modern dance floor and added a cheeky bit of Busta Rhymes on the vocal. I also added in that 'If you really like the funky beats" sample for good measure. Goes off at parties!

This track was inspired by a video of a military marching band on Tik Tok. It evolved into a bass heavy bass house track.

Finally! My new mixtape! Phat Beats Armageddon On The Streets.

If, like me, you have a love for hip hop/rap, massive dirty breaks, heavy underground dance music, grimy baselines, scratching and live remixing then I strongly recommend a download.

The mix is split into two parts. The first half is around 105-110BPM and includes a number of live remixes using acapellas over what can only be described as PHAT BEATS (my technical term for this slower dirty electronic breaks that seem to be coming out of the woodwork at the moment).

The second half is a showcase of some of my favourite breaks out at the moment (130-135BPM). Watch out for some more cheeky live remixes!

My latest mixtape is a blend of hip hop, glitch hop, breaks, jungle and drum and bass. Plenty of great rapping, slamming beats, filthy bass lines, scratching and live remixing.

I recently became a father (thus the name of this mixtape) and intend to keep this part of my life alive through a series of mixtapes, gigs and a new album I have been producing. I hope to release a new volume every 2-3 months so, if you like what you hear, keep an eye out for volume 2.

So, piracy seems to be a huge topic at the moment...

80-90% of pop, hip-hop, dance, funk, soul etc that has been successful with the masses over the past 20 years has questionable integrity when it comes to it's originality. I am trying to prove that this is a good thing! The more exposure creative people have to creative produce, the more master pieces they will create!

In light of this, I have done some serious crate digging to find the originals of some of the biggest hip-hop, pop, dance, funk and soul tunes from the past 20 years. I have also thrown in a few clues here and there to give you an idea of where the tunes came from.

Tracks on this mix are all funk, soul, motown, jazz, classical or rock tracks from the 60s, 70s and 80s. They should be thoroughly enjoyed!
