@JKriv returns to home base Razor-N-Tape with the Intuition EP, a strong statement of how far his sound has traveled in the 2+ years since his last artist release on the label.

Blueprint, a driving club burner rooted on an unrelenting bass line, builds slowly through conversational synth elements until it opens up into a soulful vocal loop that explodes in a euphoric peak. The title track of the EP is a dubby slow roller that was equal parts inspired by 90s Ryuichi Sakamoto records and modern G-funk. Over its lithe piano, hooky vocoder melodies, and rolling bass, Megatronic delivers a melancholic message of relationship loss and renewal, and coda vocals are added by J himself.

Zone 1, an ode to David Morales’ amazing Red Zone 90s remix catalog, drives hard with insistent analog drums and absolutely filthy bass beneath a pillowy layer of lush and acidic synth elements. Wearing the influence of J’s favorite producer Larry Heard proudly on its sleeve, Paula’s Dance is a symphony of intertwining analog gear, with a mysterious and gorgeous vocal by Mexican singer Pahua.

Completed while JKriv was undergoing treatment for lymphoma in the latter part of 2024, this record is both deeply personal and a triumphant statement of determination under adversity. The beautiful cover artwork by The Myno captures both the vulnerability and focus that defined the period in which J made this music.

Soshi Takeda is a Tokyo-based electronic music producer who seamlessly blends elements of house, Balearic, and ambient music to create rich, spatial soundscapes. His music, characterized by warm synth textures, intricate rhythms, and dynamic progression, evokes a sense of nostalgia while maintaining a modern sensibility.

Drawing inspiration from classic electronic music, nature, and futuristic visions, Takeda crafts immersive sonic landscapes that are both serene and dynamic. His releases on international and domestic labels, including 100% SILK, have earned him global recognition, further establishing his presence in the contemporary deep house and ambient scenes.

Today, he returns alongside indie music’s rising star BowAsWell to present his reinterpretation of Over When The Night Is Gone. The original track helped BowAsWell gain recognition thanks to its groovy feel and infectious toplines.
This Balearic House remix, released today by both artists, stays true to the essence of the song while giving it an irresistible dancefloor energy.

Kicking off a new edit series on É Soul Cultura, head honcho Luke Una hands over the keys to three secret weapon edits of transcendental dancefloor tackle. Having spent a lifetime getting his hands dirty digging in crates, Luke’s collection of off-the-beaten-track gems is second to none. For this three-track É Soul edit release, Luke delivers a one-way ticket to the outer reaches of the universe soaking up sounds from Trinidad, the UK and Cameroon along the way. Strap in for a triple threat of signature Luke Una edits reworking Ella Andall, Slick Mission and Manu Dibango for the modern dancefloor.

Up first, Luke twists and tweaks the Caribbean radiance of Ella Andall ‘My Spirit Is Music’, enriching this high-energy heater. Speaking about the track he said, “It’s a remarkable, ‘90s, swerve ball, machine soul, afrobeat groove from Trinidad. Incredibly rare, but most importantly it’s a wonderful fusion of drum machine and this almost carnival-like feel to this afrobeat rhythm that just turns it into the outer cosmos.”

Following that, Luke gets suitably cosmic on the dub dials with his 5am Shabeen Proto House Edit of Slick Mission ‘Times Up’. Produced by Jerry Pike of Atmosfear / Elite Records fame, Luke recounts, “This is a very much missed slice of UK house pressure which has its foot firmly in a proto-house feel. Very DIY, rough and raw – it’s an absolute gem. This is one that has definitely escaped most eyes.”

Last but not least, it’s a stop in Cameroon shining a light on the legendary Manu Dibango and his cover of ‘Jingo’ featuring King Sunny Adé. “Their version of ‘Jingo’ takes the original classic into a whole new level of outer space, afro brilliance. It’s such a beautiful cover and really turns the track into something else. The musicianship and vibes just scream out. Oddly no one really seems to know it.”

Three certified winners from Luke’s underground arsenal, reworked, refined and ready to be deployed on any dancefloor when the feeling hits.

Dobro's 11th outing is a wonderfully exotic collection of disco and adjacent grooves to keep some late summer sun burning whenever you hit play. Beard In Dust kicks off with 'Ambivalent Intelligence Dub' which is a nice laid-back and jazzy downtempo delight, Scruscru layers up some flower power melodies of swaying house grooves and Classonix delivers a pair of beauties that up the energy with some tropical disco. Lavrutz then heads to South America for some Latin steaminess on 'Moanin' (Ye Samba),' and collaborates on two further cuts that bring Afro influences.
