"High Output is an inside joke we have from a trip to Manila with our good friends from Do-Over Jamie and Chris.  The project itself is a collaboration between two friends from different horizons but with a same vision.  We’ve been playing together in many different cities around the world and we have a lot of friends in common all over the planet, it was just a matter of time before we’d put out something together, just because we thought it would be fun to do.  Our mix contains unexpected music, rare grooves and unreleased material…and we hope you’ll appreciate the effort and the music we put into this mix.  If you own the 7” as well, you have two previously unreleased productions in your hands and I really hope you got the shirt as well, if not, you’ve been ripped off, haha!" - LEFTO

As one the most important tastemakers Europe has to offer, and af- filiated with labels Brownswood, Blue Note, !K7 Records, Stones Throw and Jazzy Sport, this bearded early riser is consistently a couple steps ahead of your average early adopter. He doesn’t wait for the next thing to land on his lap, actively seeking it out - just take a peek at his playl- ists on Belgium’s foremost national radio station Studio Brussel which received compliments from Rough Trade Shops and Gilles Peterson.

JROCC
One of the original turntablists, J. Rocc founded the Beat Junkies in 1992 with Melo-D and Rhettmatic, but has done just as much on his own as in a group setting. He began DJing in the mid-’80s with a California group named PSK. Soon after forming, the Beat Junkies became a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop, including core member Babu plus future stars Shortkut and D-Styles. In addition to numerous mix- tapes and his own production for Stones Throw releases, J. Rocc has been the DJ for Madlib’s live shows since the early 2000’s, was the 3rd member of Jaylib (Madlib & J Dilla) during the group’s live events, and collaborated with Madlib on Beat Konducta Vol. 5-6: A Tribute to J Dilla.

@benito-turntable: "I started mixing jazzy hip-hop 10 years ago in the bars of Paris and later, when I arrived in Montreal, I discovered breakdance battles. 
From that moment, my interest in funk and breakbeat evolved and I introduced more rhythmic tracks in my mixes. 

Consequently this mix is a set of my musical influences. It begins from a hip-hop style and progresses towards a funky style with a large place for instrumentals tracks, Jazz is still the common thread. I hope that the regular listeners of the MIMS website will enjoy the mix!"
