Before travelling to the Red Bull Music Academy and starting a tour which will include stops at Waco Festival, Krefeld, London and Paris, Borchi presents a new EP titled “La Rasterinha Imperial” in which he pays an homage to the Rasterinha scene promoted by the label “Funk Na Caixa” as well as to the “Chambacú” EP from Schlachthofbronx where the remix of a remix is remixed by a team of stars from the global bass scene, including Dj Caution (Spain), Basement Freaks (Greece) y Ckrono & Slesh (Italiy), who take this remix of the remix to a new and original place.


The EP has 4 tracks. The original version of “La Rasterinha Imperial” in which Borchi mixes this brazilian rhythm with samples from a colombian cumbia version of the Star Wars’ Imperial March, thus creating an effective, catchy and happy freestyle track. 
Dj Caution teams up with jazz-musician Cecilia Krul on the voice, Fernando Ochoa on the guitar and Sergio Skaiwaka on percussions to create a  sensual dancehall version of the track.

Basement Freaks applies his bombastic beats to create a version that vibes with a cumbia house and arabic rhythms, as well as an accordion hook.
Ckrono & Slesh take the Imperial March to the sound of kuduro and trap, a powerfull track for the club.
The EP comes with a promotional mixtape where Borchi combines his tropical sampleadelia and dancehall grooves with a new hip hop energy, putting in a lot of own and new tracks.

El 26 de Marzo de 2017 voy a viajar a la Habana para tocar en Hape Fiesta, el Afterparty del Habana World Music Festival. Para esta ocasión decidí preparar un bootleg de una de las canciones que más he estado escuchando en las últimas semanas - Feira de Mangaio de Mission Delirium, un track donde el sabor latino se une con toda la energía de las bandas callejeras. Este bootleg es un dj tool de Hip Hop Tropical (Trop Hop) que permite llenar de carnaval mis dj sets y viajar entre el dancehall, la rasterinha, la cumbia y las bandas de carnaval callejero.

El miércoles de la semana pasada hice un set en la fiesta de Rarezas Latinas del Club Teminal en la CDMX que e gustó mucho, así que decidí reproducir la primera media hora de esa sesión para publicarlo como mixtape. Un super combo de freestyle tropical, cumbia, salsa choke, ritmos brasileños, mashups, cosas viejas y cosas nuevas. ¡Espero que lo disfruten!

Las wednesday I did a set at "Rarezas Latinas" party at Club Terminal. I really enjoyed the way I played that night so I decided to recreate the first 1/2 of that set and make it public. It a cool tropical freestyle combo: cumbia, salsa choke, ritmos brasileños, mashups, old stuff and new tracks. I hope you enjoy it!

Una canción hecha sampleando el Since I Left You de The Avalanches, Oto Mutu San de Hifana, Bonina de Sibu, tres distintos sintetizadores/órganos hechos con un recorte de Harissa de King Abid y nada más dos canales de operator para el bajo y unos contragolpes de melodía. Mucha sampleadelia en un solo track.

Sibu - Bonina Borchi Remix

I heard Shy Fx remix of Dj Fresh's Gold Dust and I thought the intro, right before the drum and bass beat came in, was the best part of the track. It had such a feel good vibe that it was such a shame that it only lasted during the intro. That's why I took some micro brass samples from that and turned it into a full on digital reggae remix of Dj Fresh's Gold Dust, with a very Borchi break in the middle. I hope you like it!

Archivos de Sampleadelia Vol. 1 is a mixtape that reunites some of my favorite remixes that I've done throughout the years and that are scattered all around the internet.

By grouping them into one mixtape these tracks show what the "Borchi sound" is about and what you can expect in one of my dj sets.

Borchi Archivos de Sampleadelia Live @ Aire Libre 105.3

@Kensaye is one of my favorite artists of the global bass community. Every month I see him put up all kinds of tracks that explore the global bass vibe in very creative ways, and every track is more surprising than the one before. That's why I decided to send him an early version of this track which already could have been considered a "finished song" but it still needed something extra to sound right. Kensaye accepted the idea of doing the collab and sent me back the track with a completely new groove, with a super nice vocal melody and tons of creativity in it. I just figured out how to arrange those new ideas into a new song structure, added ta bit more in the middle and boom! We got this really nice track.

Its a mid tempo 4 on the floor track that has all the broken rhythm vibe from kensaye's futuristic afro rhythms and my street carnival like drums, which are complemented with a good combination of energy and emotion. I like how it showcases a side of the global club music spectrum that doesn't involve direct references to regional music, but it still transmits that global south urban energy.

Borchi & Kensaye - Kinz

We are thrilled to share with the world the first single of Doble Redoble's new album via the Cosmo Club Corona Compilation - a great project done by @daferwa to suppor Schlachthof Krefeld. - Below you can find the info of the album. Please go to their bandcamp to buy the track and support the project!

All over the world gigs and events have been cancelled for an uncertain time. Venues are closed and consequently a wast amount of people see themselves without work: Agencies, bookers, bouncers, bar-keepers, runners, technicians, VJs, cleaning staff and last but no least DJs and producers are trapped at home. We don't know for how long this is going to be our reality.

Schlachthof Krefeld has been supporting the global club scene for the last 9 years, over 70 artists from 25 different countries came to play at Cosmo Club, a night presented by WDR Cosmo and hosted and booked by Cosmo resident Daferwa.

This music compilation called CCCC 2020 (Cosmo Club Corona Compilation) is meant to send out a positive sign of solidarity from 24 producers that already have enjoyed the hospitality of Schlachthof Krefeld. All the income of this compilation will be donated to this awesome venue.

On their sophmore album “Borchi y Su Doble Redoble” evolves completely into just “Doble Redoble” - consolidating their search for the perfect beat into a new kind of music that moves seamlessly between acoustic sounds, transformed samples and avant garde electronica.

Doble Redoble is the live electronic music project by Borchi and Asaph Sánchez, two musicians from the global bass and jazz scenes from Mexico City that make club music for instrumental hip hop lovers.

Unlike their first album “Carnaval Callejero Himnos de Club”, which was focused on taking street carnival sounds into the clubs’ soundsystems, on “Nzúmbi” they escape from that concept to create a new synthesis of what new global electronic music could sound. The album is a tribute to a cosmopolitan array of global music clashing against alternative electronic sounds, focusing on turning club ready grooves into full songs that can go straight to the heart of the listener.

Throughout the tracklist Doble Redoble presents tracks like “One More Time” which is an homage to Fat Fat Freddy’s Drop electronic dub reggae, “Montblanc” and “Bonn” create a Shigeto meets Fela Kuti type of eclectic house, “Simon” sounds like Too Many Zooz meets Machinedrum and “Sube” is a LATAM hip hop approach on Swindle’s music. It is an album of electronic music that transmits the effervescent energy of Mexico City and Latin culture without using any of the go-to templates of world music for export.

The album is produced by Andrés Oddone, a well known name in the global music scene having produced and mixed albums for Chancha Vía Circuito, El Búho, Frikstailers. It includes collaborations by Taiwan MC, Boogat, Baja Frequencia and MV Charlot.

Los Músicos de José son un grupo que marcó mi vida. Cuando empezábamos a tocar con mi primera banda "Beat Buffet" Los Músicos de José eran los ídolos del sur de la Ciudad. Luego de un par de años de ser fan los empecé a conocer en persona y ahora ellos son  unos muy buenos amigos.
