Some songs take something special to bring them to life and in this case it is the Amazing voice of Finn Eces. Finn has a quality to his voice which is able to release the magic from a song and really express the message of the song in the Vocal with passion and beauty, very happy to have this collaboration with him. 

this song has been bugging me for months trying to get it to realize its potential and to get the feeling out of the song, i have already released  it under of the name of " Searching for your love" but i was never 100% Happy with it I hope all my SoundCloud friend agree that this is now a really Beautiful song. I think it was Schubert that said that the is nothing thing more beautiful than the classical guitar, except perhaps two of them.  So eat your heart out folks because here's two parts. 

The idea here is a simple melody yes but its got so much going on in harmonic development.  I think western music has lost this knack but I turn back to Bach for inspiration.

Prelude For Two Guitars - Duet

Like breathing, improvisation is an unconscious flow from within.
Of course, one must understand the basics and have spent a good many hours building a tonal memory, but once one gets the knack of it, improvising, no matter what the instrument, is a Gift that keeps on giving. :)

As you tap into these inner autonomic cycles, you reach a Zone that's beyond anything you could consciously think of or plan. Like one's heartbeat, it's in tune with Life itself. It just happens. 

In any case...I love it when the Music is 'Floating'.......'Levitating' so to speak... not really going anywhere in particular, but tonally and rhythmically totally Present.  And... as we get better and better at finding the door to this experience, more and more wondrous music begins to manifest itself through us. it's almost as if we aren't even present.

Then the hard work of Arranging and Mastering begins!  :-D 

But be that as it may... for the Best experience of this one, I suggest you put it on Repeat at a Medium volume and let it go for 10-15 minutes.  it's sure to help you 'take a breath', become lost in peace, and relax deeply. :D

On Angels' Wings : Second Flight (with David Dunham, Guitar)

This was an unexpected piece to round off another year after the acquisition of the wonderful VSL YMIR children's choir library. Well what can you do except compose a piece using it ;-)

Given the time of year a seasonal piece made sense and once I had a title then I was away. I also took the opportunity to practice orchestral wooshes (they are a thing). The ones in this piece comprise a cymbal roll, a timpani roll and a harp gliss.  

Many of the instruments employed here like glockenspiel and tubular bells are popular in this type of music and obviously sleigh bells make an appearance. I took the liberty of quoting 'Deck the Halls' in some places too.

I wanted a dream sequence in the middle of the piece which is mainly choir and alto flute, although the glockenspiel and percussion makes an appearance. It acts as a nice contrast to the general festive sleigh ride feel.

At the Cradle (Adapted from Grieg)

A collection of songs, instrumentals and orchestral pieces charting my adventures in home studio recording and production.  All original compositions using voice, acoustic and electric guitar (sometimes using altered tunings), bouzouki, low and high whistles and MIDI instrumentation. 

I'm also using VST instrumentation to create classical compositions and integrating orchestral sounds into my songs and instrumentals.
