A very long time ago, humans took nature's example on a large number of things with delicacy and respect, which was very beneficial to them.
Then as man's intelligence developed, he tried to do better than nature by respecting it as much as possible.
By trying to circumvent the laws of nature, she will turn against the one who outrageously hurts her because in everything there is a price to pay and here we are at dawn.

David took some bare bones riffs, beats, and bass from myself and transformed them into an entirely new galaxy of sounds. 
To my ears this sounds like the explosion of a Super Nova. 
David added synth, drums, bass, and guitar. Ultimately, David's added skills were the icing on the cake for this creation. Visual art also provided by David Spencer.

Background
Simeon of Durham recorded the grim events of the Viking attack on Lindisfarne in 793 AD

"And they came to the church of Lindisfarne, laid everything waste with grievous plundering, trampled the holy places with polluted feet, dug up the altars and seized all the treasures of the holy church. They killed some of the brothers; some they took away with them in fetters; many they drove out, naked and loaded with insults; and some they drowned in the sea" .

'The Vikings' was in direct contrast to the dreamy first piece of the album. I came across a Latin Phrase spoken by priests as a prayer of protection from the scourge of Viking raids. It helped me get into the mindset required for this piece. I chanced upon some 'Foley' material of some actual Viking re-enactors from freesound and used this to create a very short, brooding piece that explodes into an electric guitar solo before just being suddenly left with a voiceover of me chanting the Latin phrase against the backdrop of the sound of the sea.

Often Viking raids were short and bloody and I wanted to try and capture how an attack like this could change everything for the vulnerable monks. Faith was their shield but could it really protect them from these savages from the sea ?

Ainda na infância, eu gostava de sair à noite quando estava chovendo e trovejando; era gostoso andar na chuva à noite com os relampados rasgando a escuridão e trovões preenchendo o espaço, com os seus sons graves, quase fazendo as coisas estremecerem. E fui buscar nas memórias da infância, a motivação para a inspiração desta música.
Uma certa noite, ao ouvir o som da chuva, os clarões e os trovões, sai para caminhar numa região montanhosa, cheia de bosques e montes rochosos. Ao chegar em uma área muito alta, vi, ao longe, algumas pessoas de branco entrando em uma casa pequena e velha que ficava na base da colina. Chamou-me a atenção por ser uma noite escura e chuvosa, quem iria quere estar ali no frio e na humidade? Então, comecei a caminhar protegido pelos arbustos e pelas sombras das nuvens negras que passeavam naquela noite. Enquanto, ao longe, via-se os clarões e ouvia-se os trovões. Aproximei-me de uma janela e, cuidadosamente, olhei através da fresta, o ambiente encontrava-se numa penumbra azulada. Mas o que chamou a atenção, foi a visão das pessoas sentadas sobre os joelhos, com as pernas juntas e dobradas, em forma de círculo e que, olhavam fixamente para as mãos que, repousavam sobre os joelhos, com os dedos entrelaçados e as palmas voltadas para cima: parecia um ritual. Estavam todas vestidas de branco, com uma roupa folgada e de mangas longas...

Um ritual (em latim: ritualis) é um conjunto de gestos, palavras e formalidades, geralmente imbuídos de um valor simbólico, cuja performance é, usualmente, prescrita e codificada por uma religião ou pelas tradições da comunidade. Em qualquer tempo ou lugar a vida é sempre marcada por rituais.

De acordo o dicionário eletrônico Michaelis, Ritual tem a seguinte definição: adj m+f (lat rituale) 1 Pertencente ou relativo aos ritos. 2 Que contém os ritos. sm 1 Livro que contém os ritos, ou a forma das cerimônias de uma religião. 2 Cerimonial. 3 Conjunto das regras a observar; etiqueta, praxe, protocolo.
Nesse sentido, os espaços ritualísticos não são apenas os ligados à religião ou misticismo. O espaço do jogo de cartas entre homens maduros, por exemplo, obedece às regras, apresenta padrões e procedimentos típicos. Do mesmo modo, o espaço de cuidado do corpo/aparência da mulher (um salão de beleza, por exemplo) apresenta certas regras. Nessa ampliação, seria correto afirmar que a vida em sociedade (típica da humanidade) só tem sentido a partir do entendimento dos rituais que a circunda.
Os propósitos dos rituais são variados. Eles podem incluir a concordância com obrigações religiosas ou ideais, satisfação de necessidades espirituais ou emocionais dos praticantes, fortalecimento de laços sociais, demonstração de respeito ou submissão, estabelecendo afiliação, obtenção de aceitação social ou aprovação para certo evento - ou, às vezes, apenas o prazer do ritual em si.
Os rituais são característicos de quase todas as sociedades humanas conhecidas, passadas ou atuais.
