BREIS is a seasoned emcee and host of Urban Griots open mic session, one of London's premier shows for rappers and poets in the late 90s and early 00s. BREIS has performed at prestigious venues such as London’s Jazz Café, Barbican, Queen Elizabeth hall, Blue Note Tokyo in Japan and numerous festivals across Europe and Africa. A seasoned performer who has toured internationally and shared the stage with artists such as Black Thought (of The Roots), Angie Stone, Ty, Omar Sosa, Nneka, Les Nubians, Tony Allen and Kim Burrell. In 2012 he was invited to give a TEDxYouth talk and performance. BREIS is also an author and has published a book of his rhymes entitled 'Brilliant Rappers Educate Intelligent Students'

BREIS – STAY DILIGENT

South London rap maestro, BREIS releases his brilliant new single, ‘Stay Diligent’. The witty wordsmith practically creates a whole new language reminiscent of 90s Hip Hop group Das EFX to rap in. He employs the playful ili delivery which is complemented with some insightful life science. He recounts everything from his move from Nigeria to London to his grind in the music scene while spilling the beans on an array of internal affairs, every bar filled with optimism and humour.

The head nodding riddim is produced by Artcha and works well with BREIS’ flow over the elastic-like bass line, invigorating synths and dynamic drum pattern. The song is anchored by the hook which doubles up as a melodic call to arms. The refrain of "if you don't work you can’t eat" serves as extra motivation for the most hungry go-getters out there. Stay Diligent is the first single from his forthcoming EP, Arise & Shine.

BREIS (breeze) is a dynamic Nigerian rap artist based in the UK. His name stands for Brother Reaching Each Inner Soul. Growing up in both the UK and Nigeria has influenced BREIS’ sound, which is a fusion of Hip Hop, Jazz and Afro-beat.
