Do you actually have hard drives full of masterpieces like this dating back more than 20 years? Why did I never hear you on the radio? I must have been listening to the wrong station... not the one of my dreams. Among other things, what a guitar painting. I am getting the possible sense that your voice sounds just slightly different here... slightly younger. It happens to sound great, but if I am correct about that, it has also evloved very well!

Your archive of oldies is astonishing. Perhaps you don't sleep?

a reminder of what I love about this forum -- finding another great tune from a cherished peer;  I love the pizzicato strings you got in there with all the other Cagey elements --which is no small feat given that your record on the gear mid 20th century ornithologists used for field recordings!!!

What treat to discover these early Mr C gems!  The crispness of the mix and the slightly less mellow vocal fill the cans with such sweet sounds:)

I’m reading Circe by Madeline Miller, a retelling of the Greek myth of Odyssey and feeling inspired by the imagery.
At one point after being betrayed in love, Circe transforms the nymph Scylla into a six headed monster who guards a narrow passage in the sea. Scylla devours and destroys any sailors and ships who come near her. 
And in the classic Greek myth of Odyssey there appear sirens; beautiful, dangerous half woman, half bird creatures whose song will be death to any sailor that hears it.
I’m fascinated by this idea of dangerous women creatures at sea symbolizing temptation, peril and death. Scylla, monstrous and hungry, the sirens beautiful and sweetly singing but nevertheless deadly. Large wooden ships slicing through the water. Masculine power being crushed by the lure and seduction of these creatures.

Well hello,
If you have popped over from my main and current music page Mr Cagey, (Link below), then thank you very muchly. Or, if you just bumped into me by accident, no worries, why not have a listen anyway.
Here you will find some of my older recordings made between 1987 and 2012. They were all recorded using an 8 track Adat tape recorder through a Seck 12 8 2 analogue mixer, except Number One which was on a Fostex Model 80 tape machine. No mastering, just mixed straight to a stand alone Philips cd recorder.(Number One mixed straight to cassette)
I really appreciate you taking the time to visit and lend an ear to my old stuff. Please feel free to comment and share if you wish.
