Your production/arrangement/recording are always fabulous and impressive for me. But what puts your work over the top for me is those skills of yours never supercede the emotional contact/impact of the song. That's beauty upon beauty. You've been very good at this for a long time. I'd be curious what you were up to in 1999. And by the way, the "kit" really rather works!

I heard this by Sierra Ferrel and just love it by her. I had no clue it was co-written by Ray Charles. This is a casual version in my friends, Jack Beck, house. We just enjoy getting together and doing sone songs on the fly that we mention, look up and give it a whirl. Jack is on guitar, and a much better picker than I am. He will be glad to tell you! HA! I know the truth when I hear it!  Anyway, we just have a good time playing music and singing. He has a back yard full of chickens, so it seemed fitting to do this song. We wondered about the meaning, if it was about a Mom who blew the coop and the family was a wondering where she went. The pic I took of Jack serenading his chickens, Ha!  Yep, we kinda country. :)

Written and recorded to 8 track tape then mixed straight onto cd around 2009.

The drum percussion sound, because I didnt have a kit back then, was created by using crusty old paint brushes on a textured vinyl album cover. If I recall, it was the Eagles greatest hits. Where theres a will, theres a way.......

Here you will find some of my older recordings made between 1987 and 2012. They were all recorded using an 8 track Adat tape recorder through a Seck 12 8 2 analogue mixer, except Number One which was on a Fostex Model 80 tape machine. No mastering, just mixed straight to a stand alone Philips cd recorder.(Number One mixed straight to cassette)
