Around 39,000 years ago, a mammoth died as a result of unfavourable weather conditions,
somewhere in the vastness of Siberia 
Nobody would have known about it or taken any notice,
if a team of researchers had not found this mammoth in 2010 
in the eternal ice.

None of this would have been anything special, but this mammoth 
froze so quickly and was thus preserved, 
that it is still completely preserved and can give us an insight into the
life of this mammoth.

The revolutionary thing about this find is that blood could still be taken from the mammoth itself.
This allowed the complete DNA chain of the mammoth to be determined.
And there is the possibility of bringing the mammoths back to our planet.

This mammoth could therefore be the ancestor of a new generation of living creatures
on our planet, and so it was given a name.

They called it Yuka !!!
