Pop Song (feat. Sumika)

*for my song challenge friends below*

Hey folks. 
I only spent a few minutes in Musescore; can't read music so I just randomly wrote in notes on random instruments then sampled. 

Was listening to Rick Rubin's new book, and he suggested a way to write lyrics where you beat a pillow for 5 minutes non stop and then write down the first things that come to mind. I did that once and wrote what became the, uh, wholesome lyrics, then I did it again and recorded it. 

By the end of the process I was beating up a pillow at full force for a combined total of 12 minutes and I am still sore from doing it days later. The outro to this is a sliced and stacked up take of me punching the poor (thankfully memory foam) pillow until I was laughing hysterically. 

For the sung lyrics I had a friend call me and read a random line from a random book of hers. It vaguely fit what I *think* the theme is. 

The end result is a confused, id driven weirdo piece. Cathartic as hell to make, but not quite enjoyable to listen to. Most fun I've had in a decade.

The vocals I did live, I didn't double and offset tracks to make them sound like more than one take. 
The mic I was going to use died, so I used the mic I still had.

This was based on a lucid dream I had years ago, and my awareness of life on earth.

Passing through this endless stream, to see what shape I take.

Crying for the fears I know, that carry on into another dream.

Ghost dance baby, change me.

Traveling through this painted town, looking out fear, while masked as freedom.

Seeing forms lost in pose, step on the clans that mark my frown.

The plateaus of reason, called down to wear a smile.
Contagious mask, the task of red city.
In their final hour, no damnations are heard, the movements of this world, fear shades the pearl. 
See the world take my eyes, step on the tiles until I die.
Feel the fur around the form, no need to break the view.

Watching my life go by, breaking a slit, while they second guess.,
Fight within the tangled cord, dance furiously for the show. 
3 pools that reflect the moon, sometimes they die too soon.
The world takes so many forms, all for people to fuck up in.
