When I woke up this morning and heard a singing comet I couldn't resist singing something back. This rough and ready little ode to the spirit of adventure and solar-powered batteries is the result. Think of it as a duet between Mr Fogg and Comet 67P.

Don't Let The Light Go Out

Earlier this year Micachu scored Jonathan Glazer's movie Under The Skin starring Scarlett Johansson. Seven years before that - and two years before her debut album came out - she made this furious and impatient remix of the original 7-inch version of Seciov that has never been heard until now.

Re-discovered in a pile of old hard drives earlier this month and uploaded as a document of what we were both thinking and doing at the time - Mica restlessly experimenting with sounds and rhythms and me recording songs in my bedroom with a £30 microphone.

Where I live, deep in the countryside, the roads are empty of cars. There are no planes in the sky. It is perfectly silent. 

I spend all day at home with my children, and when I leave the house once a day I see nobody else on the footpath. 

We are sealed off from the rest of the world with the sunshine and the apple blossom. 

On the surface, we are living in paradise. But we are only here because we are in the midst of a global crisis that is killing thousands of people every day. Holding those two ideas in your head at the same time is exhausting and disorienting. And this song is the best way I know to express that.
