“Give A Little Love” is about a time of healing, getting through a low period in life. When all one needs is compassion and connection with someone that could help them get through it. It's really about helping each other out when things get tough...

The most prominent musical features of this song are the percussion and marimba, both of which I like to use quite a lot in my music. I wanted to make this song quite groovy and bass driven.

When I took it to David Kosten's studio in London, we decided to invite Jason Cooper to record some live percussion - he is the drummer for The Cure. Jason Ahwai, who plays bass for Marina And The Diamonds, also came to the studio to lay down some super groovy bass lines. As a final touch, we added Otis Sandsjö’s “screams” on the saxophone as a form of madness and "a cry for help".

Mirna Stanic aka M. Rider is a singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. A Zagreb native, she received her first international critical acclaim as a singer-songwriter upon moving to Brighton, UK. In 2012 , she signed a publishing deal with Fat Cat Records, which was followed by BBC Radio 6 and BBC Sussex airplay. Two years later she relocated to Berlin, Germany, where she is based since. 
In 2017 Mirna released “Dark Horse”, her debut EP as M.Rider co-produced by David Kosten (Bat For Lashes) with percussion by Jason Cooper (The Cure). For her first LP as M.Rider, which is currently in the making, she has collaborated with Vincent Taurelle (Air), Earl Harvin (Air, Tindersticks), Neil Fraser (Tindersticks), Lucy Wilkins (Bryan Ferry, Tindersticks), Leo Abrahams and Franz Kirmann.
Taking cues from 1980s pop-rock and 1990s downtempo and house, M.Rider’s music is emotional, kaleidoscopic and distinct. Her latest detour into dance music is expected to yield a dancefloor-ready album, due for release in Spring 2024.
