The track used for the one-off wax cylinder release on Quagga Curious Sounds. A straightforward recording of a contraption named ‘The Crank’ that was often utilised as a form of hard labour within Victorian prisons.

Live recording from a two and half minute tape loop using the rhythmic sounds of a Jacquard loom and amplified pair of forged steel tweezers. Using a contact microphone to record a door slamming randomly against an old TV aerial on a windy day at Dove Street Studios, Norwich (UK). Recorded 17/01/2018. Part of my residency 'Stretch & Burn'

A copy of Bird Sounds in Close Up by Victor C. Lewis is carefully mounted onto a log cut from a fallen tree, a dried rose bush branch is suspended from the ceiling carefully balances (from a single thorn) on the LP playing surface. This recording documents my attempts at playing the LP by hand (a contact microphone was attached onto the rose bush branch). Recorded during my residency 'Stretch & Burn' at Dove Street Studios, Norwich in January 2018.

Unwind Endlessly is a four minute audio recording of the artist pulling magnetic tape out of a compact cassette. This recording formed part of the Cassette Works solo exhibition held at Nunns Yard, Norwich. It played back on 4 minute endless loop cassette throughout the exhibition.

'Anti Glitter' is a playable 6.5″ 78 RPM anti-record crafted from layers of wood glue, each with a combination of red, blue, silver or magenta glitter embedded into the surface.

Released on Quagga Curious Sounds in an edition of eight hand-numbered copies.

The Balcony of the Best Exotic Geranium Hotel is a collaboration between myself and artist Karl Foster, my contribution being sound-based and Karl the objects and surfaces inside the room. We created the room under the direction of Mark Smith, Leisure and Education Coordinator for The Norfolk and Norwich Association for the Blind (The NNAB). As Mark is blind, his Dream Room encourages visitors to engage through sound, touch and smell. A myriad of pleasing textures and objects are await those that navigate his room.
An audio description was carefully composed with Mark to provide navigation and an insightful account of his room; furthermore additional field recordings were subtly included to further enhance the viewer’s experience.
