After delivering his breakout mini-LP ‘Static’ through Anjunadeep in April of last year, Swedish producer Bård Ericson (aka boerd) returns with ‘It Fades Away’, lifted from his next EP, ‘Misplaced I’.

A regular member of the Royal Swedish Opera, Swedish Radio Symphony, and Stockholm Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Ericson has also proven himself as an accomplished bass player for numerous ensembles around the world. Touring Tokyo, Stockholm, and New York, the producer performed in the Philip Glass opera ‘Satyagraha’ earlier this year (including four sold out shows in Brooklyn’s illustrious Harvey Theatre), he also recently contributed as a member of Andrea Bocelli’s orchestra throughout his Scandinavian tour. This deep immersion in the classical world of opera and orchestra is masterfully exhibited in boerd’s otherworldly sound.

With influences that range from Bibio, Burial and Aphex Twin, his latest single ‘It Fades Away’ looks to expand on the experimental path he forged with ‘Static’. Blending short and sparse electronics over an atmospheric and haunting backdrop, boerd’s sound feels assured, distinct and aesthetically refreshed for 2019.

Speaking about his return, the producer added, “I wrote this song at a time when I was pretty confused about some personal stuff, and the music seems to reflect that. I feel pretty confused all the time to be honest; I think most people do.”

“‘It Fades Away’ features my own vocals, some guitars, and an acoustic piano processed beyond recognition for the introduction. I also recorded a bunch of unusual foley sounds that I resampled and used as percussion.”

boerd will release his new single ‘It Fades Away’ on the 14th May via Anjunadeep. It will precede his forthcoming four-track EP ‘Misplaced I’, arriving 31st May.

Berlin based producer and live artist Ben Böhmer has risen through the Anjunadeep ranks to become a breakout star of the past 18 months, amassing almost 40 million streams, picking up BBC Radio 1 support from Annie Mac and Pete Tong, including an ‘Essential New Tune’, and being featured in Billboard’s ‘Ones To Watch’. 

In addition to running his own fledgling label Tön Töpferei, Ben has put out singles on Anjunadeep and acclaimed remixes for Monolink and Jan Blomqvist, both of whom now feature on Ben’s debut LP.

Ben’s early releases on tastemaker labels Bade and Keller drew comparison to revered producers Recondite and Francesco Tristano - dark tracks dotted with classical influence, featuring haunting piano lines and discordant strings. Not long afterwards, Ben lost a close family member, and both his life and his music changed course. 

Whilst overcoming this loss, Ben found solace in music. 

The moody and reflective sounds of Ben’s early work made way for brighter and more melodic music, keeping the depth and texture, but changing the tone from darkness to light. Finding a sense of hope and optimism in uplifting emotions and euphoric melodies, Ben's debut album ‘Breathing’ marks the closing of a chapter in Ben’s life, the culmination of a period of heartache and recovery, and a coming of age as an artist.  

Opening track ‘In Memoriam’ is an emotive tribute, blending powerful strings with stirring vocal samples. Title track and lead single ‘Breathing’ with collaborators Nils Hoffmann and Malou follows. A long-awaited highlight in Ben’s live shows over the past year, 'Breathing' layers Malou’s delicate voice above swung percussion and hard-hitting synths.

An avid collaborator, Ben is also joined on the album by two further breakout German stars, vocalist Monolink who features on ‘Black Hole’ and multi-instrumentalist Jan Blomqvist who lends his vocals to ‘Decade’. 

Through the album Ben explores a range of emotions, from the hopeful ‘Hunting’ with Jonah, to energetic instrumental ‘Maelstrom’ through to the hard-hitting ‘Wall Of Strings, which samples The Cinematic Orchestra. 

Following the release of the album in November, Ben will be taking his live show on an extensive world tour - dates and information to be revealed in the coming months.

‘Breathing’ is available to pre-order now, digitally, on CD and on limited edition 2x12” white vinyl, due for release 22 November 2019.

Odd One Out requires me to sometimes release records that are a bit...odd. So after the 2 first releases I decided it’s time to unleash a hint of Gouda. The track asks ”Is This Trance?” and is fuelled by some gargantuan bouncy saw riffs that I picked up from my 13-year old brain which at the time was listening to Southside Spinners and Gatecrasher compilations. Slightly slower and more mature, like some of my favourite cheeses are, this is quite close to musical Gorgonzola with some hedonistic grapes.

I met Cassian at some afterparty in Denver a few years ago and our paths kept crossing - besides sharing a taste in protein powders and workouts he’s an insanely talented producer and I’m pumped about his remix of Nova. It’s a banger and a very creative approach to the Ass Horn Track.

Redressing the original’s guitar into an infectious hook, Boratto's colourful reimagining illustrates just why he’s previously remixed the likes of Moby, Massive Attack, and Way Out West, whilst label regular Martin Roth delivers a stellar remix representative of his ten year tenure in the scene.

Anjunadeep, the renowned UK label responsible for breaking acts like Lane 8, Dusky, Yotto, Cubicolor, Ben Böhmer and Eli & Fur, present the eleventh instalment of their chart-topping annual compilation series.
Showcasing the sound of Anjunadeep at the turn of a new decade, prolific Bristolian DJ Jody Wisternoff and label co-founder and A&R James Grant share their seventh mixed compilation together - ‘Anjunadeep 11 Mixed by Jody Wisternoff & James Grant’.
Since the inaugural ‘Anjunadeep 01’ over 10 years ago, the compilation series has proven a hotbed for new talent joining the imprint and has helped break some of the most iconic tracks in the label’s back catalogue.
Marking the start of another landmark year for Anjunadeep, the new compilation sets the tone for what’s to come from the label in 2020. With Jody and James at the helm, ‘Anjunadeep 11’ showcases an eclectic mix of new and exclusive tracks across two meticulously crafted mixes; featuring a host of electronic original cuts, remixes and edits from label staples while welcoming more fresh faces to the series than ever before. Ranging from the hypnotic melodies of breakout talents Cubicolor and Ben Böhmer to peak-time dancefloor moments from Yotto, Alex Metric and Dosem, this year’s instalment also brings an abundance of new talent into the fold, with compilation debuts from hotly-tipped duo Leaving Laurel, seasoned breaks producer Braxton, and a truly perfect closing moment to round off the album from British producer Jon Gurd.
