Next up in our mix series is our good friend, Aaron J. An esteemed label head, promoter and selector based in New York. Aaron is the founder of Sure Thing, a New York-based label and mix series operating at the boundaries of rhythmic, experimental dance music. As a performer, Aaron is inspired by the complex dialogues that arise between sound and emotion on the dance floor, with highlight appearances including Sustain Release, Monument Festival, and Nowadays. 

In this mix Aaron shows his level of empathy and attention-to-detail are unmistakable, layering, building and driving emotions ever onwards. With a truly unique-, flawless- and warm approach to music, Aarons sound has a true depth that remains in your brain and soul.

Vataff Project -  live @ Ozora festival 2017, The Dome stage

A collection of healing songs of prayer from Latin America, with much inspiration coming from Peru. Of course there's a fusion happening here, with much cultural cross-over between the Andes and Amazonian regions, and influences from beyond, such as Europe and North America. Indigenous music has long incorporated certain instruments from elsewhere like guitars, but now we sometimes even find African drums and Indian sitars. The healing plant medicine traditions of the Amazonian region have become blended with the Andean world view with Pachamama and their mountain deities, melded with Christianity, and now even with influences coming from Eastern Yogic philosophy and mantra style songs of prayer. Most of these songs are being sung in Spanish, with a splash of indigenous languages such as Quechua or Yawanawa. Two artists that played a prominent role in this mix are Danit and Rainer Scheurenbrand, both with several gems on this mix. Cover art by Luis Tamani. Thanks to all the medicine!
