What you’re about to hear, is an entirely raw zoom recording between friends meeting online to share and test their thinking; and to explore ideas together. 
 
I am speaking here to 2 close friends who had asked me to talk about my work exploring spirituality in different parts of the world. 
 
On this occasion I decided to share in relation to a developmental model that draws from the work of Jean Piaget, James Fowler & M Scott Peck. 
 
The ‘Stages' model has inspired, challenged and fascinated me, since I came across it in my teens years ago. When Einstein read about Piagets stage theory, he remarked that it was 'so simple that only a genius could have thought of it.'
 
This recording was never originally expected or intended to be heard publicly but was later shared and posted by the listeners on the call.
 
I would normally remove the obvious errors and hyperbole that happen when one speaks to close friends in a personal and private conversation before any public sharing. 
 
However, I have been encouraged to just be willing to let this remain
- and to accept the vulnerability and faith necessary therein.
 
I hope that the spirit in which it was delivered to my two friends may balance the elements that I wish I had improved in my delivery.
 
Finally; as you will hear, I use the word God when speaking of Spirit; but others must define and name this Universal Force in the way that for them bears integrity. 
 
All of my partners and community around the world have their own experiences and expressions - and I can only speak of these indefinable mysteries in the knowledge that words are insufficient to convey such things - while doing my best to hold true to what I have experienced and known. 
 
I struggle to convey the essence of my own wonder and awe at that which I am unable to describe in words. I trust that in listening that you may recognise the awe that you too have experienced and know within.

The talk you’ve just heard is of course,  a parable - a metaphor to encourage us to think about ourselves and our inner growth in different ways that may be interesting or helpful. 
 
As I say at the outset, the stages are just a map and a series of expanding ideas designed to challenge and help us to think differently. 
 
In reality it might be most technically accurate to say that; we all have all 4 Stages always present within us at any one time.
 
In each of our responses to life - each thought, each decision, each experience; all of us can choose to respond to our circumstances from these different levels of awareness, according to our will.  
 
Like all of my work, the talk is oriented around one sole purpose and the value that I have held most important for my whole life - to challenge myself to think in new and different ways so that I can reflect on my life in order to try to grow.
 
No other purpose inspires or motivates me - Nothing else matters so much to me. Whenever other fellow travellers join me on this journey and we can walk a little together, it is a great joy and encouragement.
