Dessert Island Disc's 10th release features a brilliant disco gem from the mighty Rahaan on the A side while the B throws up another Aussie local with his own label but going under the pseudonym of Ted Empleton. Both tracks laid out for a friendly tour of any dance floor with a Disco Bent. They don't last long - no digital release either so grab a copy before they're all gone and going for ridiculous money on Discogs!

Frasier - Into My Dub

It was Memorial Day Weekend 2016, and the sun shined bright over the Detroit River. Pontchartrain stepped up to the decks at the Red Bull stage at Movement Electronic Music Festival donning his infamous "Detroit vs. Itself" t-shirt. His first song through the Rane rotary mixer was a dubplate made specifically for his set: “Afterlife”. It’s a brilliantly executed daytime disco rework that warrants the praise of summer anthem that it’s earning. 

On the flip is “Pool”, an equally sunny slomo beatdown rework from Blair French. It's a delightful blend of cerebral and soulful, and is finally getting a release after being originally championed by Peter Croce on his Le Mellotron Paris set back in early 2018. 

This 7" is pressed heavy and cut loud at 33.3 RPM with a normal non-dinked hole.

Hot R.S was a disco-rock band from Johannesburg, South Africa, running from 1977-1980. They were actually a “phantom band” that was made up of only studio recordings. They had no live performances, and no photos of the band. The name Hot R. S. comes from the acronym House of the Rising Sun.

His love affair with the evolution of synthesizers and vintage drum machines has gone on to heavily fuel his sound today, in addition to sonic desires of 80s Rock evident in his catalogue, that displays such exquisite musical versatility. 

Rayko is very proud to have featured on over fifty great vinyl releases, spread across labels such as Eskimo, Is it Balearic?, Whisky Disco, Lumberjacks in Hell, and Editorial, including two studio albums on Nang Recordings, in addition to over two hundred digital releases. Many of these titles have been repeatedly featured in Top 10 sales charts, with some releases making it to the coveted number one position on platforms like Juno Download, Beatport, and Traxsource. His talents as a remixer have been in constant high demand, with invitations from coveted Artists like Psychemagik, Sirs, In Flagranti, Roberto Rodriguez, or Dj Rocca, to name a few, calling upon his exceptional skills.

In his capacity as DJ, Rayko is much loved wherever he goes.
