They say all good things must come to an end and Trash The Wax Vol. 9 has the honour of being our penultimate collection of dance floor heaters and beaters. Believe it when we say we're going out with an almighty kapow!

This ninth outing is packing fire with regular TTW providers such as Paper Street Soul kicking things off with a slab of post-punk electronica on 'Notes On You'. Picotropico has been drinking the same kool aid with the Talking Heads-esque 'Inmovil feat. Sima Itayim'.
 
If low-slung-chuggy-psych-acid-house is your bag then we've got you covered by Dan Wainwright, Coy Dog and James Rod who each crank up the ALFOS-o-meter to 11. House with disco tendencies gets fully represented here by Define, Gina D, Processman, J Kara, Dastardly Bounder and Flying Mojito Brothers who all guarantee a session kicking up dust on the dance floor.

Other Paper and TTW firm members The Secret Soul Society and Andy Buchan go for a housier hat throw into the ring on 'D For Damaga' and 'Road To Barca' whilst Jahn Solo drops an ultimate end of night feel good anthem on 'Dance For Me'.

We here at TSTD are longtime fans of Mexican producer/musician MONSIEUR VAN PRATT.
So it’s a great pleasure to finally work with the smooth man.

For our joint 7 inch he delivers two smooth, warm slow-disco tracks:
Side A is a slow disco edit of a super rare Mexican late 70s cover version of Bobby Caldwell’s classic love song “What You Won’t Do for Love”.
Side B takes us into the church of Black Soul, a slow Gospel Soul track for your sunset disco beach bar dj sets.

Monsieur Van Pratt, founder of Super Spicy Records, is a prominent producer and DJ originally from Mexico City, whose influence on
electronic music is widely recognized both nationally and internationally. With an impressive career that includes more than 100 releases in digital format and 26 on vinyl, which consolidate him as a key figure in the genre.
His music has been released by prestigious record labels such as Toy Tonics, The Disco Express, Tropical Disco Records and Buddha Bar, among others, underlining his status on the global scene. His ability to fuse genres, attention and styles has captured that of critics and the public, leading him to collaborate and remix a series of renowned international and national artists. Among his most notable collaborations are works with Derrick McKenzie, drummer of Jamiroquai; Drop Out Orchestra, Art Of Tones, amongst others. Each of these collaborations has allowed him to explore new musical dimensions, enriching his characteristic sound with diverse and fresh influences.
With a musical style deeply rooted in disco, funk and jazz, Monsieur Van Pratt combines classical elements with contemporary touches, creating a sound experience that is both nostalgic and innovative. His work not only stands out for its technical quality, but also for its ability to connect emotionally with the listener, making him a central figure in the evolution of modern dance sound.

Based in the beautiful and vibrant city of Madrid, Spanish DJ and Producer Extraordinaire - Rayko has been a leading light in the clubbing scene around Europe and beyond, since he founded his magnificent Rare Wiri label in 2008 where he has released some of the coolest names out there during all these years like Daniele Baldelli, Man Parrish, Gazeebo, Ilija Rudman, Ichisan, Spirit Catcher, Mushrooms Project, or Eric Duncan among many others

His very unique sound and personality, and incredible work ethic, coupled with  unstoppable creative genius have given Rayko the momentum and consistency to stack up a number of great achievements in his genres, although being such a humble and down to earth guy, he will tell you that he just loves what he does and is perpetually inspired to keep on doing it! 

Deeply rooted in the golden era of the ‘70s and ‘80s, Rayko’s influences are masterfully interpreted and transformed into modern day dancefloor bombs with great vision. His love affair with the evolution of synthesizers and vintage drum machines has gone on to heavily fuel his sound today, in addition to sonic desires of 80s Rock evident in his catalogue, that displays such exquisite musical versatility. 

Rayko is very proud to have featured on over fifty great vinyl releases, spread across labels such as Eskimo, Is it Balearic?, Whisky Disco, Lumberjacks in Hell, and Editorial, including two studio albums on Nang Recordings, in addition to over two hundred digital releases. Many of these titles have been repeatedly featured in Top 10 sales charts, with some releases making it to the coveted number one position on platforms like Juno Download, Beatport, and Traxsource. His talents as a remixer have been in constant high demand, with invitations from coveted Artists like Psychemagik, Sirs, In Flagranti, Roberto Rodriguez, or Dj Rocca, to name a few, calling upon his exceptional skills.

In his capacity as DJ, Rayko is much loved wherever he goes.
