One-man production whirlwind Rayko strikes again. Not content with re-editing every single 1980s electrofunk record (or so it seems), he's decided to head back to original production. It could be a wise move. Certainly, there's something rather special about the breezy Balearic house chug and twinkling pianos of "Altered States", the EP's standout moment. Elsewhere, Rayko sticks largely to a very European take on nu-disco, delivering sharp synth hooks, bubbling rhythms, electro-flecked grooves and bright melodies aplenty. There's a touch of low-slung disco guitar on the enveloping "Keep The Faith", and an Ilya Santana-ish headiness to the foreboding grooves and saucer-eyed melodies of "Space Surf".

If you're a fan of DJ Supermarkt's 'Too Slow To Disco' series you'll want to to check for this new three-tracker from Ben Jamin immediately, because the Liverpool-based producer - who's racked up releases on the likes of Hot Gorilla, Discoholics Anonymous, Hot Digits and, yes, Too Slow To Disco - captures that mid-70s yacht rock and Quiet Storm soul vibe perfectly. The title track is a sleek, sophisticated slow jam with jazzy overtones - if you'd told this writer it was a long-lost Captain & Tenille cut, I'd have believed you! - while 'Destiny' treads a more straight-up disco path and 'I'm Dancing' drops down into a low-slung funk groove, but you'll have to pick your own standout here... all three are so good that picking a favourite seems a tad redundant!

Deeply rooted in the golden era of the ‘70s and ‘80s, Rayko’s influences are masterfully interpreted and transformed into modern day dancefloor bombs with great vision. His love affair with the evolution of synthesizers and vintage drum machines has gone on to heavily fuel his sound today, in addition to sonic desires of 80s Rock evident in his catalogue, that displays such exquisite musical versatility. 

Rayko is very proud to have featured on over fifty great vinyl releases, spread across labels such as Eskimo, Is it Balearic?, Whisky Disco, Lumberjacks in Hell, and Editorial, including two studio albums on Nang Recordings, in addition to over two hundred digital releases. Many of these titles have been repeatedly featured in Top 10 sales charts, with some releases making it to the coveted number one position on platforms like Juno Download, Beatport, and Traxsource. His talents as a remixer have been in constant high demand, with invitations from coveted Artists like Psychemagik, Sirs, In Flagranti, Roberto Rodriguez, or Dj Rocca, to name a few, calling upon his exceptional skills.

In his capacity as DJ, Rayko is much loved wherever he goes.
