Shroud is a stereo version of a piece designed to be played through four speakers, one in each corner of a (preferably) darkened room.
The sounds used are recordings of electro magnetic fields produced by various different household machines (TV, Stereo, Mobile Phone etc. These are the invisible, shrouded sounds that we cannot hear with our ears but which surround us all the time. This piece aims to take everything else away except those invisible sounds.

Minimal Resource Manipulation was set up as a label in 2006, predominantly to release the electronic compositions of Matthew Atkins. Since the we have released fourteen discs in handmade limited editions. We have also expanded and have released music by other artists and are looking to continue this. Matthew Atkins has also released music under the names Platform and Seven Hour Germ on labels such as Smallfish, Epicene, Escala and Cryoworks.
