I started making this mix series 11 years ago to celebrate my birthday and DJ anniversary.  After a short break, I am pleased to bring the tradition back to life with Twenty-Two, celebrating my 50th birthday and 22 years of DJing. I usually set a lot of rules for programming these studio mixes but I let that all go for this mix and just chose what moved me. I hope it moves you too! I found the album cover quite fitting, which was taken at my 40th at the first ShOOnanigans 10 years ago! 

I am excited to celebrate my 50th at Public Works SF on Sat 7/19! We have one of my favorite producers, Aylen, headlining along with special guests and my long-time friends Dulce Vita (Opulent Temple), Haute Mess (Brass Tax), and Nugz (Dusty Rhino). Sorry for the delay getting a new mix out, I've been busy the last few years working hard on an album for a new project that I will announce next year, more news incoming!

I had the idea for this mix after finishing off the last Classic Breakbeat Mix a few years ago. Since then, I've been listening to old albums and collecting music that was pivotal to my musical journey. So many of these tracks were key moments in my life that sent me down a path that I'm still on today. 

As much as I love discovering new music, reconnecting with old music from a new perspective gives you such a great appreciation for how good this music really was. Putting this mix together was a great way to reconnect with these tunes, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it.
