Give your mind a treat. Here is some Axel Boman, an up and coming producer from Stockholm, Sweden. Axel has already collaborated with big names and accomplished much in a short time. I have a lot of respect for people who can make their own distinct sound in the torrent of noise that has become the music scene.

A bout de souffle de Jean Luc Godart - Jean Seberg - Aéroport Roissy Charles de Gaulle, interview, d'un grand écrivain, Monsieur Parvulesco, jouée par l'immense cinéaste J-P Melville.
Pourquoi avoir choisi cette scène ?
Parce qu'elle est en tout point admirable, visionnaire et fascinante ! Et cela pour plusieurs raisons.
Premièrement elle s'insère dans le film sans raison apparente. Elle n'ajoute rien semble-t-il. Une sorte de parenthèse, de digression pseudo philosophique.
Deux cinéastes de génie se rencontrent et se télescopent et peut-être se provoquent. L'un, Jean Luc Godart, jeune cinéaste, fait parler l'autre...
Et ce que dit J-P Melville est à tiroirs. Toute cette scène est à tiroirs !
A la première écoute on entend Melville tenir un discours misogyne. Parce qu'à la première écoute on s'attache beaucoup plus aux réponses de Melville qu'aux questions qui lui sont posées.
Second tiroir : On observe les questions qui lui sont posées.
Troisième tiroir : on découvre alors que la pertinence des réponses que donne Melville est fonction de la pertinence des questions. Plus les questions sont idiotes et plus Melville répond bêtement.
Cette scène est donc d'une modernité incroyable - Elle annonce le règne des médias et la platitude du discours médiatique, et Melville s'en sort admirablement dans le rôle que Godart lui a donné -

After many happy years of playing this amazing, raw gospel number out as a personal dj "weapon" I thought it was time to share my edit with you all so I've given it a brand new makeover, road-tested it and I think you're gonna love this! 

I have many fond memories of seeing people dancing and losing it to this way back when, early 2000s at La Via Lactea. Nobody knew what this stuff was back then (gospel disco/funk?!) but nobody cared either, people just came to dance. It's gratifying when you get your own homegrown scene, lots of records from those days seems to be coming into their own now, which is great, but what was cool then was that nobody cared -  about what anyone else was doing elsewhere, just enjoying our own thing in complete freedom. Good times!
