Kicking the year off Taelimb has dropped us an exclusive mix absolutley FULL of fresh rolling Drum and Bass bangers!!!

TAELIMB was born and bred in the heart of South London’s creative melting pot. The rising producer spent his teenage years hanging out at Stockwell skate board park, graffing walls and making beats with mates. 

Early favourites, such as Ed Rush, Optical, Teebee and Cause For Concern drew him into Drum and Bass production. Taelimb, then still underground and yet to be named, spent years buried in his music; he built up his knowledge of music production and moved deeper into the London Club scene. 

8 years later and he has transformed from amateur, to becoming one of the listed ‘ones to watch,’ recognised for his unique take on the D&B and Dubstep movement. 

Why? Maybe it’s his complex compositions. Tracks like ‘Depth charge’ show intricate harmonies, resonated over layered samples and then styled to atmospheric depths. Never one to follow the crowd, Taelimb’s gritty urban surroundings fly across his tracks. His experimental sound have rapidly become signatures, stamped and printed across his beats.

When you see him comin' get the f**k out the entrance: Angesichts einer Armada aus penibel abgepausten Boom Bap-Replikanten zwischen Soundcloud und Bandcamp, ist es gut, ein wasserdichtes Original in seinen Reihen zu wissen. Einen Suff Daddy Beat erkennt man drei Meilen gegen den Wind und aus 16 Flugstunden Entfernung.

Seit seinen alles andere als bescheidenen Anfängen mit der "Kill Bill" 7" auf MPM hat Suff Daddy's Trademark-Sound aus geschichtsbewusstem Sample-Einsatz, treibenden Vocal-Cuts und Micro-Korg Wahnsinn eine weltweite Fanbase gefunden. Über die Jahre kollaborierte der in Düsseldorf aufgewachsene Berliner mit Underground-Rap und Soul-Größen wie Twit One, Hulk Hodn, Fleur Earth, Miles Bonny, Elzhi, Phat Kat, Odissee, Kissy Asplund, dem Retrogott, Audio88 oder Morlock Dilemma. Suff Daddy veröffentlichte mit "The Gin Diaries" und "Suff Sells" zwei gefeierte Solo-Alben und trug mit seiner mittlerweile legendären Hi-Hat Club Platte "Suff Draft" entscheidend zur Entwicklung einer europäischen Beatszene bei.

Auch zuletzt zeigt sich der Suffvater von seiner kosmopolitischen Seite: Einem einjährigen Australienaufenthalt folgte die Split EP Bricks & Mortar mit dem Down Under Ausnahmetalent Ta-Ku.

Derweil bastelt Suff Daddy schon am nächsten hochprozentigen Projekt - den Betty Ford Boys, bestehend aus Dexter, Brenk Sinatra und seiner Suffness himself. Das Kollabo-Album der ersten Beathead-Supergroup wird derzeit zwischen Kaisermühlen, Sydney und Benztown hin und hergeschoben, und steht noch 2013 im Plattenregal jeder Ausnüchterungsklinik, die etwas auf sich hält.

Auch ausserhalb der Beatszene findet Suff Daddys Musik mitterweile statt. Für New Era designte Suff seine eigene Baseballcap, adidas Originals vertonen Webspots mit seiner Mucke und Zuschauer von BBC und Pro7 hören seine Beats regelmässig im Background. Have beats, will travel.
