Follow the White Rabbit was recorded live on Nov. 2, 2013 at a Venice Halloween Party.  Hundreds people packed the party, the creeps were out in full force, and the cops were called twice. This set was recorded at the Mycelia art project Saturday night at Burning Man this year and man was it a doozy! It goes through before, during and after the man burned this year at the burn, which is about halfway through. I did not let my foot off the gas on this one until we had other DJ's hop on.  For those that were there for it and missed out I hope you enjoy it!

This one was never planned…
It was Thursday night, Rampue had just finished his amazing live set, and the dancefloor was still full of energy. I just wanted to play a few tunes to help everyone wind down a bit until he packs … but the vibe was too good to stop.

I didn’t have my main USB with me—just a handful of tracks I love and the folder from my previous gig. Somehow, that made it feel even more personal. One track led to another, and before I knew it, I’d played for 3 hours. We danced into the sunrise together, up on top of the Disorient structure, watching the sun spill gold over the playa.

The energy, the smiles, the hugs, the cheers… I was so deeply moved by the love and support from all of you who stayed, danced, and shared that morning. It became one of the most unexpected and beautiful moments of my burn. 

Thank you Disorient. Thank you to every dusty dancer. Thank you, Sun.

It's been many years since I've DJ'd a Space Cowboy's party so I was thrilled to be invited to play their most epic event of the year. I've heard stories about Breakfast of Champions, but had yet to attend. I DJ'd Sea of Dreams the night before and was surprised how many friends of mine were just laying low and getting sleep on NYE so they were fresh &amp; ready to rage at B.O.C. the next morning. When I arrived, the event had already reached capacity and the entire street was packed with dancing freaks! After getting my breakbeat on with Kapt'n Kirk out side, I went into Might and fulfilled another dream come true, played the main room on their legendary RLA sound system. A little more background on this week’s guest...
As long time North SF Bay native event producer and DJ, Zack Darling is well known as a highly effective mover and shaker. His DJ career spans over 20 years and began as a 14 year electro-punk DJ playing late night sessions on public and pirate radio stations in Mendo-fornia. He’s since dropped multi-genre-smackdown beats on night clubs and parties large and small, including Decadance, Space Cowboy’s Unimog, Mystic Beat Lounge’s Techno-Tribal Dance, as well as some of the biggest clubs and dance events in San Francisco, like 1015 Folsom, Temple, Sea of Dreams, Club Mighty, Kelly’s Mission Rock and many more. He also regularly plays within the festival circuit, including Burning Man, Burning Man Decompression Street Fair and Harmony Festival. Zack has played every year as a headliner at EarthDance Festival for a decade now, and in 2002 was the first electronic dance music DJ to play the main stage at Reggae on the River where he shocked the Humboldt rasta crowd with nu-skool ragga breaks. Musically Zack’s style is most difficult to classify as it spans a gamut broader than most dance floor DJs. His mixes are expressions of the alignment between Mashups and bass-heavy dance floor beats. Zack is moving forward into a style where he can follow all of his passions, old and new, merging Breakbeats, House, Dubstep and Mid-Tempo Hip Hop, with Reggae, New Wave, Folk, Funk, Soul and especially classic Rock favorites – remixed, retooled, repurposed for the dance floor.
