Thrupence is an electronic music producer, creative director, illustrator and designer.  Jack Vanzet from Melbourne, has been steadily crafting his skills & gaining recognition worldwide for his visual and musical output, more recently with his signing to Sydney's Future Classic label in 2014.

Thrupence is currently polishing off his debut LP "Ideas of Aesthetics" due out on Future Classic on 21st of April, which he describes as "a collection of songs made over the last 6 years - some songs date back to 2011, others were finished in the last six months. Solid Steel (29th September) In Hour 1 this week it's Washed Out, who released his latest album 'Mister Mellow' earlier this year on Stones Throw, followed by an excellent Lone remix of 'Hard to say goodbye' from the album. His new visual album is his latest since 'Paracosm' in 2013, moving away from the synthesizer-driven sounds of his early work and the more band-driven sound of his work on iconic indie label Sub Pop,  influenced by classic plunderphonics records of the past as well as the experimental collage techniques of musique concrete.He told us;
"I spent a lot of time looking for samples on Youtube while putting together my most recent album - so these songs are a few I discovered during that process.  There are a lot of different styles and genres here - but what ties everything together is a very raw, unpolished vibe to the recordings that I really like and strive for in my own work. I hope you all enjoy these obscure gems!"  You can catch him on tour in Europe starting with Lisbon on 24th November through to London on 7th December.

Solid Steel (27th April) In Hour 1 our guest is Chrome Sparks (aka Jeremy Malvin) following the recent release of his debut self titled album on Counter Records. The album is the product of an obsessive approach to production as much it is about a restless hunt for new ideas over several years spent between Malvin’s Navy Yard, Brooklyn studio and a secluded cabin in upstate New York. He spent a month there to escape the distractions of the city, and to distill his process during what became an intensive period of creativity. He is currently on tour with Machinedrum in North America, before heading over to Europe for 6 dates in May. He told us;
"An expedition. embarking from somewhere in the past, metamorphosing into faux-familiarity, while diving into ephemeral moments unknown, rustling from celebration to introspection.
