A return to his former style, Cuttin' Weight is the first track recorded for the forthcoming final album from DJ Stash entitled, "The Edge of Forever."  This track is just Stash with a beat on in the studio, coming off of the top. Stash has only recorded 3 freestyles over his lengthy career, this one will be the final one.....maybe........

DJ Stash began his music career at the age of 16 as a tech trainee for Rev. JJ Green at Soul Outreach Ministries in Cambridge Maryland. It was through this exposure that he would start to learn the craft of studio and live production. He would join various metal and punk projects until ultimately linking up with Scott Mathewson and creating the industrial duo of Half Breed. This was a hybrid hip hop/industrial group that basically used whatever they could get their hands on to make noise, be it a sample, a keyboard or a metal trash can. A year later, Stash started jamming with Jason Love, a virtuoso of beat production who was creating very abstract and original trip hop tracks. Stash began to rap across these and Sample Sound 2012 was formed in 1998. During this period, all music was released through the in house label of Dizmal Records.

In 2000, DJ Stash and Jason Love parted ways and set out on their own paths. DJ Stash formed Powerplay Entertainment. Powerplay Entertainment, while still producing abstract music, went a more dark, gritty and hard core rap route. DJ STASH was also the first known area PC DJ, utilizing a complete PC setup for DJ performances as early as 1998 and going full live with it in 2000. Powerplay Entertainment produced five albums for DJ Stash from 2000-2005.

HE WAS THE LONGEST RUNNING HOUSE DJ IN THE CLUB EXISTENCE, PACKING THE HOUSE WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT, MANY TIME ONLY WITH HIS PROTEGE A PLUS, AND A FEW DIFFERENT GUEST DJS FROM TIME TO TIME. DJ STASH TOOK A HIATUS FROM ACTIVE DJ PERFORMANCES FROM 2007-2010.
DURING THIS RIME HE RECORDED THE HIP HOP ALBUM, THE BULLY AND THE METAL EP, 'THE BLAKKOUTT PROJECT'.

IN 2010 HE WOULD RETURN TO ACTIVE DJ PERFORMANCES, PLAYING AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS THROUGH OUT THE STATE. HE WOULD ALSO JOIN THE HEAVY METAL BAND, 'SYMPTOM OF DECLINE, WITH WHOM HE STILL PLAYS WITH. HE WOULD ALSO RELEASE ANOTHER HIP HOP ALBUM, 'SHATTERED NIGHTMARES."

FROM 2011-2014, DJ STASH ACTUALLY WAS THE GENERAL MANAGER OF A VERY SUCCESSFUL HOTEL IN CAMBRIDGE MARYLAND, HELPING EVENT PROMOTERS FOR ALL DIFFERENT GENRES OF MUSIC PRODUCTION IN THE AREA TO HOUSE THEIR ARTISTS AND GUESTS. STASH EVEN HELPED TO PRODUCE A FEW WRESTLING PROMOTIONS IN THE LOCAL AREA.

ALSO IN 2014, DJ STASH UPPED HIS GAME ONCE AGAIN, BY BECOMING ONE OF THE MOST EXCITING AND DANCE FLOOR DRIVING DJS IN THE AREA BY PERFECTING A UNIQUE BLEND OF EASILY RECOGNIZABLE SONGS WITH ON THE FLY, LIVE REMIXING. IT IS TRULY AN EXPERIENCE THAT IS UNIQUE TO DJ STASH AND POWERPLAY ENTERTAINMENT.
