So here it is. It has been a while in the making this mix for me. I’ve made it countless times just so I could reminisce and remember the good times from Cambodia whilst never quite finishing it. 

It’s from a time when I really felt that I wanted to be more than just a listener of music and share the sounds that really made me tick. I never planned to be a DJ or be named Mr. Squires, I just happened to stumble across an emerging scene along my travels through the people I met along the way. I could just sense something special was coming and it felt right to be part of the whole experience from start to finish. 

I have tried to encapsulate a time when we could play the music that was true to our nature before we evolved into to a scene which we could never have comprehended. 

Certain tracks are timeless in my mind from this time and I just wanted to share them with you or anyone who would like to listen. I hope you enjoy this mix as much as I have making it. “

With visionary sound scapes woven by a shamanic order of priestess and wizard DJ’s alike, THE NOOK embodies a new dimension of sacred sounds and ritual beats to satisfy the native, barefoot dancer within us all.

This effeminate sound has proved a revelation, bewildering and bedazzling the underground music jungle with acts such as Mira, Nicola Cruz, Martha Van Straaten, Frey Train and Pigmalião, delivering mix after mix of intoxicating journeys into deep, divine realms. “I played an impromptu six-hour set at Sky Bar on Koh Rong, Cambodia. Starting in the afternoon, I set the mood with chilled @LifeOrganic vibes suited to the relaxed atmosphere. As the evening progressed, I gradually built the energy, moving through multicultural downtempo, organic house, and melodic house and techno, creating a mix that flowed from day into night.”

DJ/Producer Andrew Swailes AKA "Mr. Squires"(Otres Crew) Cambodia has a love of music that has led him across the Globe following the music to Ibiza, Berlin, European Festivals and the Australian Bush Party Scene. It was at the Eclipse Festival, Australia 2012 that everything changed for him. After leaving Australia on a different path and with a different mindset he started a DJ career just as a new scene was emerging in Cambodia. He started doing Underground Techno Events for the infamous South East Asian party "Kerfuffle Cambodia" alongside soundcloud.com/davebreezekerfuffle. After six years in the Cambodian Jungle he moved to the City of Kuala Lumpur where he started to learn about the art of Music Production.

DJ / Produzent Andrew Swailes AKA "Mr. Squires" (Otres Crew) Kambodscha hat eine Vorliebe für Musik, die ihn nach Ibiza, Berlin, zu europäischen Festivals und zur australischen Bush-Partyszene über den Globus geführt hat. Beim Eclipse Festival in Australien 2012 änderte sich alles für ihn. Nachdem er Australien auf einem anderen Weg und mit einer anderen Einstellung verlassen hatte, begann er eine DJ-Karriere, als gerade eine neue Szene in Kambodscha entstand. Er begann, Underground Techno Events für die berüchtigte südostasiatische Party "Kerfuffle Cambodia" zusammen mit @davebreezekerfuffle zu machen. Nach sechs Jahren im kambodschanischen Dschungel zog er in die Stadt Kuala Lumpur, wo er anfing, etwas über die Kunst der Musikproduktion zu lernen.

Jetzt, Jahre später, ist seine Debüt-EP "Evolve" auf @ vision3records erschienen und hat es in die Top 100 der Beatport-Veröffentlichungen von Progressive House und Melodic House & Techno geschafft

Die Vorliebe für Deep, Melodic und Progressive Vibes vom Spielen bis zum Cambodian Sunrise hat ihn dazu veranlasst, sein Nebenprojekt "Techno for Breakfast" zu kreieren, das Variationen von House und Techno für die Morgenstunden auftischt. Dem Start einer Podcast-Serie von talentierten und inspirierenden DJs / Produzenten, die er auf dem Weg kennengelernt hat. 🖤

Noisily’s latest manifestation THE NOOK was born from the emergent sonic wave of Medicinal Dance Music, whose unifying effect is being felt around the globe with growing frequency. With visionary sound scapes woven by a shamanic order of priestess and wizard DJ’s alike, THE NOOK will embody a new dimension of sacred sounds and ritual beats to satisfy the native, barefoot dancer within us all.

This effeminate sound has proved a revelation, bewildering and bedazzling the underground music jungle with acts such as Mira, Nicola Cruz, Martha Van, Frey Train, Straaten and Pigmalião, delivering mix after mix of intoxicating journeys into deep, divine realms. Make no mistake though, these beats are powerful and earthy, pulsing as low as the heart beat, bringing new rhythms, grooves and mystical melodies that expand the possibilities of psychedelic dance music.

DJ/Producer Andrew Swailes AKA "Mr. Squires"(Otres Crew) Cambodia has a love of music that has led him across the Globe following the music to Ibiza, Berlin, European Festivals and the Australian Bush Party Scene. It was at the Eclipse Festival, Australia 2012 that everything changed for him. After leaving Australia on a different path and with a different mindset he started a DJ career just as a new scene was emerging in Cambodia. He started doing Underground Techno Events for the infamous South East Asian party "Kerfuffle Cambodia" alongside @davebreezekerfuffle After six years in the Cambodian Jungle he moved to the City of Kuala Lumpur where he started to learn about the art of Music Production.

Now years later his debut EP "Evolve" has been released on @vision3records making it into the Top 100 Beatport Releases in Progressive House and Melodic House & Techno 🙏🏼🖤

Having a love for Deep, Melodic and Progressive vibes from playing to the Cambodian Sunrise the music he plays and now produces has led him to create his side project "Techno for Breakfast" bringing variations of House and Techno made for the Mornings. Starting a Podcast Series from talented and inspiring DJ's/Producers he has met along the way. With time rolling on he is now looking to wind down with some Downtempo and the S.L.O.K.E // Slow Poke Sessions. 🖤

friend is the DJ project of Dominic Irla from Cape Town South Africa, now based in Hanoi Vietnam. Mr Squires is a DJ, music curator, and storyteller through sound. He first gained recognition at Kerfuffle Cambodia, an underground jungle party, where his sunrise sets and melodic house and techno became a staple of the event.
