It's fair to say that Tim Bernhardt, aka Satin Jackets, has kept himself busy the last 18 months. Whilst much of the music industry's been locked down, the nu-disco star's released a series of acclaimed singles and forged several new connections. One of which, his partnership with up & coming UK vocalist Tailor is already paying dividends. "Spell is about letting yourself deep dive into the unknown with someone," explains the British singer. "You don't know where you're both headed, but still you're willing to just surrender yourself to the journey and float off together into the unknown."

Blessed with one of those voices that you feel as much as hear, Tailor delivers a stunning performance on 'Spell', perfectly capturing the song's seductive, yearning vibe. At the same time Bernhardt produces one of his finest tracks in recent years allowing Tailor's vocals the space to breathe, burnishing them with seductive synths washes, subtle flourishes and a dreamy beat.

Having clocked up more than 60 million streams on Spotify alone for his 2019 album 'Solar Nights', Bernhardt has gone from strength to strength, releasing a string of singles and EPs throughout 2020 and '21 from classic instrumental nu-disco though to hit collaborations with the likes of Australian indie star Panama and new talent such as Tailor.

Poolside's Jeffrey Paradise has rightly made a name for himself over the past decade producing the kind of blissed out downtempo disco that cocktails and sunsets were made for. Having recently seen Satin Jackets remix his own 'Losing Control' single to stunning effect, the Los Angeles producer returns the favour adding his distinctive warm touch to the sublime 'Spell'.  One of three songs on Satin Jacket's new album featuring up & coming British singer Tailor, Poolside rebuilds the track around the track's yearning vocals, looping and sending them echoing off into space accompanied by a bubbling synth bass line and etheric synth washes whilst a chugging 97bpm house beat keeps our feet anchored safely to the dance floor.      “I loved working on this remix after being a fan of Satin Jackets for so long, especially his recent remix of my song ‘Losing Control," explains Paradise. "The original ‘Spell’ is a great track, so I wanted to honor it while still making it my own. I added some classic Poolside slow motion house music vibes to the entire thing, and also played with the structure a lot by making the original chorus the bridge and adding a new chorus of my own with a cut up vocal. Enjoy!”

Following hot on the heels of his acclaimed 2nd album 'Solar Nights' German producer Tim Bernhardt, AKA Satin Jackets, returns to bring some much needed warmth to the winter with the release of the 'Golden Cage' EP. Featuring three brand new instrumental tracks, the 'Golden Cage' EP sees Bernhardt venture into more introspective territory, eschewing the more upfront pop direction of recent collaboration with Panama, 'Electric Blue', for something softer and more intimate. 

'Meridian Gateway' delivers the kind of optimistic yet wistful melodies that Bernhardt has time and time again shown himself to be a master of. Built around a series of poignant piano notes the track gently unfolds and reveals itself, shimmering like the first frost of the year catching the morning's rays.

Whilst 'Solar Nights' showcased Bernhardt's skill at crafting thoughtful left field pop music and coaxing the best out of lyricists and singers alike, the 'Golden Cage' EP reveals he's still a dab hand when it comes to crafting dreamlike nu-disco, as warming as a mug of glühwein in midwinter.
