1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection.

Since 1984 I have been collecting vinyl, so as a result, many rooms in my flat are overpacked with the blackgold stuff now. In regards to directions and music styles, my collection includes a wide range, mainly Indie, Reggae, Hip Hop, Electronic, Breakbeats, Jazz, Swing, Folk and some Soul.

In 1995, after 11 years of „simply“ collecting, I became a Hip Hop DJ in Hamburg which led into several other projects, e.g. my own sound system „Fatbacksound“ and a band called Caracho. But the most exciting experience was opening my own club Echochamber. Nowadays, after Echochamber’s closure, it is fun doing some small DJ jobs every now and then.

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about what you love about the format.

I like all kinds of formats, but the 7inch is the deepest and very reduced format for a track and this is what I like most.

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your selection for your 45/7 mix?

I take the listeners on a trip with an oldschool Dancehall/Roots selection back into the last 30 years.

4) Where can people catch you / listen to your music?

5) Top 5 all time fave records.

Although I do not like Top XXX - lists,…. this would be my faves, if I had to choose tonight:

Back in January, UK producer and RBMA alum Throwing Snow announced that he would be dropping a four-part series of dancefloor-oriented releases over the next several months via the Houndstooth label. The cracking rhythms and bleeping synths of "Subtitles" are from the series' second installment (which is dropping soon but hasn't even been announced yet), and the track debuted on Red Bull Radio's First Floor, our weekly look at what's new in electronic music.
