Many of these tracks started as seeds for the film/trailer world; others were for the "song a day for a month" challenge in July 2021. It's easy to get caught up in the trap of creating for a purpose or in support of someone/something else; I wanted to make art for art's sake and let these demos exist as God intended, naked and unafraid. This is the first full-length album I've ever put out, and even so, it's in a non-traditional form. What a vulnerable and exciting feeling!

Spores tells the story of a loop I've replayed more times than I care to remember. I hope that in releasing this project, I can release that old pattern, too.

Spores also signifies the intention of its stems being available for remixing/reimagining. I like the thought of them scattering across the globe and finding new life in places I've never been and may never go.
