Some words by Paperclip ~

I was born and raised in Vietnam and currently living in Eora. During the Covid lockdown, I came across underground Asian collectives such as Nhac Gay and Genome 6.66 MBP which left a big impression on me. They are my biggest inspirations to this day. Other than that, I love love the ocean, I think it has a very big influence on the music I want to hear and make! But, yeah, I'm not that great at talking about myself :,). Hope you enjoy the mix and thank you for having me.

Kansi usually navigates the diverse realms of electronic music, delving into genres as house, disco, Italo, bass and sometimes UKG, but today in her contributions to msg4000, Kansi showcases her love for house music, refreshingly smooth and with a mixture of spacy sounds, bringing a feeling that hopefully lingers after listening.

She's eager to broaden her communities and co-founded the collectives, SoliCrew Leipzig, Sunday Love Affair and Incite. For her, music and especially radio is a form of liberation and self-empowerment.

Alilia is a fresh face on the Eora scene, but not new by any means. Since graduating from the inaugural FBi Dance Class in 2023, she has continued to cement her name in the local scene and has supported the likes of internationals such as D.Tiffany and INVT. With a growing eclectic signature style weaving left-field selections with sleek percussion and bass, she exhibits a deep appreciation for underground global sounds.

Guest mix 007 is jebbi the unofficial 4th member of msg and the most crazy skilled DJ we know. Jebbi is a DJ and event organiser of FAIRYTAEL(@fairytael_xx ), a queer experimental club night based in Gadigal land.

Jebbi’s love for dancefloors runs deep; they are committed to the revolutionary potential of movement as ways to practice resistance, love and identity. As a DJ, Jebbi traverses all things breaky, bassy, percussive and speedy, focused on creating soundscapes that are dystopic, futuristic, and inherently euphoric on the dancefloor.

We have @halalbutch.dj coming through for a guest mix. We fell in love with their sound after listening to their mixes that imbued the traditional instruments, creating atmospheric, reflective scenes.

They’re an artist, poet, DJ and community organiser making movements towards collective joy and liberation. This manifests in different ways from the dinner table, through the gallery and to the club. They draw movement from a non-exhaustive selection of experimental broken beats, acid, IDM, jungle, footwork and jersey. Participating in many projects in both conventional and unconventional capacities, they mostly orient themself with discretion and intimacy.

𝙎𝙖𝙞𝙚 is a DJ, Producer, and Musician from Meanjin/Brisbane, bringing flavours of smooth R&B, Soulection, and South Asian spice to his sets. With Fiji-Indian and Dutch heritage, saie has an incredibly strong classical and urban influence that is expressed and explored through his music. saie is also a musician, playing and producing for artists and bands from diverse genres. What started as a hobby has grown into a credible name within the music industry, not only in Brisbane but also interstate. This has led to performing at Splendour In the Grass 2023, opening for Raf Saperra, JAEL and Jrobb, and being a frequent DJ at Brisbane's biggest clubs and events.

Guest Mix 011 - Saie

Multidisciplinary artist Jack Saha known professionally as Apricot Jack; Designer, Producer, Songwriter, Curator and DJ, has planted himself into the pit of what the Sydney creative scene has to offer, from hosting his own parties to arranging art exhibits through his casual-couture label @bleubyapricot

With Bengali heritage rooted from Kolkata, intertwined with an upbringing in a beachside contemporary Sydney, his reference points of art and sound have only widened by the decades; taking inspiration from the likes of Rabindranath Tagore, but as well as Virgil Abloh and Devonte Hynes, linking a bridge between a multitude of decades, disciplines and philosophies to form his distinct design language.
