Student Debt is a first-person survival log from a generation that did what it was told and still came up short. It opens in the echo of expectation and drops straight into the pressure: collectors calling, phones disconnected, graduation photos masking panic. The hook keeps asking the same question because the system never answers it — what’s the template to success when all you’re handed is debt?
The verses sit in that uncomfortable in-between space: faith rebuilding, parents worrying, adulthood arriving with no instructions and no safety net. There’s no hero fantasy here. Just someone trying to catch a dream that keeps slipping, learning in real time, failing forward. The rap verse widens the lens — digital upbringing, political noise, frozen reforms, and a joke about “adulting” that isn’t funny when rent is due.
