when I saw 
a homeless man feeding pigeons
in a region 
known for corporate greed and high-priced religion
it had me prisoned for a moment
freezing in the cold wind
sprinkling the crumbs of what his stomach could be holding 
golden was the colour of his heart in that spectacle

had me conscious of my shortcomings,
owning up to cases where my conscience was expected to
