The Book of Love by the Magnetic Fields

My dear friend Alyssum and her partner Nick were to be married in March, and her Dad and I were going to play and sing them down the aisle. Well, a pandemic hit instead! They secreted away to the forest, filmed their sweet ceremony among the ferns, and we put together their tune anyway. Here's to love, dear friends, new collaboration, and wonderfully surreal wedding tunes.

Musical musings, sounds, experiments, aural feelings, and collaborations live here. I sing, play guitar, bass, small percussion, objects, and have been learning accordion. My main project has been as Professor and Madwoman, a music and dance collaboration with accordionist Barry Bless, as well as our weekly live show with our Breakfast Cabaret Orchestra that ran for seven years until the Time of Pandemic. We play with tunes from all over the planet, from every era, including the future, plus originals. I am reacquainting myself with old instrument loves, starting to write again, and using cave-time to hear the light.
