This work is made out of field recordings that I collected several years ago together with my dear friend Kaf. We were hiking through the forests around Munich, immersing ourselves in the ambiance of a sunny summer afternoon. The scent of the woods, the warm golden sunlight, and the melodies of the birds inspired us to capture the sounds of the forest.

When I settled in Vienna, I rediscovered these recordings and instantly got teleported back to this radiant summer day. Determined to preserve these emotions, I produced a track called "Metamorphosis," symbolising the interplay between cherished memories and newfound experiences.

~SAVAGE SESSIONS 4th ANNIVERSARY~

MTRL (Material) is an art project by Audio Engineer and Sound designer Lukas Weinlein, who has always been fascinated with soundscapes to which he could relate to emotionally.

Playing various instruments for years, he started experimenting with different sounds at a young age, tapping into many different styles of music.
This insightful journey shaped his current understanding of music and ultimately led him to the endless possibilities of hypnotic electronic music, inspired by the infinite cosmos and organic voices of nature. Having bonded with a multitude of great artists helped to refine his style and created a sphere of inspiration around him. His deep, experimental - and sometimes dark sounds- resonate with the audience and invites them on a trip to remember.

The name for this specific art project was chosen because the definition of the word material, the matter from which a thing is or can be made, fits the purpose of the project very good. So the aim of MTRL is to create an audiovisual experience from existing or non-existing matter for open-minded brains.

Revelation of Sound is pleased to present MTRL (material), an art project by Lukas Weinlein. Experimenting with several ways of artistic expression for years, the way of telling a deepminded story through sound cought his attention. Guided by that, he explored the universes that exist, painted by so many different styles of music. This insightful journey shaped his current understanding of music and ultimately led him to the endless possibilities of hypnotic electronic music, inspired by the infinite cosmos and organic voices of nature. Having bonded with a multitude of great artists helped to refine his style and created a sphere of inspiration around him. The permanent exchange of ideas and skills with other artists helped to transform MTRL into a still developing transmedial art project . The name for this specific art project was chosen because of the definition of the word material: "the matter from which a thing is or can be made" - It fits the purpose of the project very good. The aim of MTRL is to create an audiovisual experience from existing or non-existing matter for open-minded brains. Together with Dycide and Polygonia he is one of the minds behind the label @iorecs. His various releases on labels like Lowless, solid Shape and AGOS are played by some of the most established artists of the Hypnotic and Deep Techno scene.

A sheen, shaped, silver smooth
ringing go hues bounced against
the sizzle of shaking
as the steady siren sings
a tune to sway all sands
into dunes and dynamics delivered.

The wheel and roll of night air moon
dew'd backward, the underside is as dry as a chime,
while the uppermost is a rained as the tallest cave
that stretches the feel of inside
as if the costae verae were elastics,
and the sternum were a bell.

One that might only sound out
the metal in the veins,
like metal under water,
flowing, fell fathoms far
along an elliptical path,
drilling out the cache of concepts,
corroded and clean,
shing as beams build out bones
of sound from the dark kick
scratching out strange signs
we cannot deny.

And we know.
We who have heard.
And felt the raying cosm
building on scintilance
a vast canopy that drops
upon our heads a breaking force
to set us a'dream,
that no tone of suspended contact
between you and those ahead of you in line,
one place, one minute away
from a beta phase,
a sudden turn,
a slow new,
a change,
a chance,
to come careening slowly
into air that smells of lavender,
in a land of yellow grass
and black stones.

The project embraces an intuitive approach to music-making, where field recordings, modular synthesis, and experimental techniques blend into rich, evolving compositions.

This mix presents a selection of unreleased tracks which ended up on his hard drive over the past few years. 
The mix flows through ambient, experimental, and floor-oriented sounds, offering a cross-section of different projects, methods, and setups. 
Some of these tracks were originally composed for audiovisual installations, others for live performances, and some emerged spontaneously in shared creative environments.
It’s an archive of unreleased material that continues to shape future paths.
