This track from American producer DJ Coldsteel is part of his new album "Trickster Spirit" which is being released by Acid Waxa on 05/11/21.

Trickster Spirit is a beautiful magic carpet ride of a bop, racing giddily at breakneck-speed across the more neon end of the rave spectrum. Taking in acid, hardcore, breakbeat and gabba, this is Coldsteel’s first full length long player to date, following recent EPs for the likes of Audio Bambino, Hardest Soft & Nooit Meer Naar Huis.

Young buck, Darius Shaol (aka DJ Coldsteel) delivers the goods - snacking on samples from far and wide and then spewing them up back again alongside his own deeply infectious harmonies & rhythms. Melodies are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed but divisive (see historical tricksters such as the fox, Pan and sprites et al). “Growing up in the U.S, I feel uncomfortable saying this but the album is intentionally cheeky. It lives in a cloud kingdom above grind, style and pragmatism”.

DJ Coldsteel hails from Vermont, North East USA and now resides in Chicago,
