[03/01/2025] Patience Upon The Pre-Decree That Causes Distress - By Abu Khadeejah ‘Abdul Wāḥid حفظه الله. Khuṭbah at Masjid As-Sunnah An-Nabawiyyah, Aston, Birmingham, UK.

– {No calamity befalls, but with the Leave [i.e. decision and Qadar (Divine Preordainments)] of Allah, and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart [to the true Faith with certainty, i.e. what has befallen him was already written for him by Allah from the Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], and Allah is the All-Knower of everything} [Surah At-Taghabun (64): 11]
– The believer knows that the calamity is from Allah and He guides his heart.
– Statement from early Salaf explaining the above points.
– The two types of people that have traits of kufr.
– Ahadīth showing how Allah trials a person and hastens the punishment in this world instead of punishment in the hereafter.
– Greatness of reward is in accordance to the greatness of trial.
– Having patience in Allah’s decree is a sign of a person having iman in Allah.
– Decrees are divided into two categories​.
– {No calamity befalls on the earth or in yourselves but is inscribed in the Book of Decrees (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz), before We bring it into existence. Verily, that is easy for Allāh} [Surah Al-Hadid (57):22]
– The statement of the believer during calamities: All praise is due to Allah in every condition.
– Ahādith showing when the decrees were written and the correct understanding of decrees.
– The believer is pleased with the decree of Allah, even if it is painful.
– The calamities that are due to our own disobedience – major sins and the continuous minor sins.
– How we can wipe out the major sins and minor sins.
– Types of Major sins.
– Not permissible to use pre-decree as an excuse for sinning – rather we are commanded to worship and obey Allah.
– Be patient upon the calamities that occur due to pure decree.
– Repent to Allah due to calamities that occur due to your disobedience and sin.
– Being patient upon the loss of a child and the rewards that will be received.

- Chapter 1: Kitāb aṭ-Ṭahārah
- Ḥadīth #2: “Allāh will not accept the prayer of any of you if he has broken his wuḍū up until he performs it.”
- The two types of purification. 
- All acts of worship are tawqīfiyyah and not open to opinions. 
- “Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated. Labouring hard, exhausted. They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot, blazing fire.” [Sūrah al-Ghāshiyah 88:2-4]

- “Whoever disbelieved in Allāh after his belief, except him who is forced thereto and whose heart is at rest with Faith…” [Sūrah an-Naḥl 16:106]
- The story of ‘Ammār b. Yāsir (رضى الله عنهما) who was compelled by the mushrikīn to disparage the Prophet ﷺ. 
- Whisperings that lead a person to transgress the limits, and how to combat them. 
- The wuḍū of the Messenger ﷺ. 
- The meaning of the term wuḍū, and its purpose. 
- The most complete of stations for the son of Ādam. 
- Adorning ourselves for the prayer and presenting ourselves before our Lord in the best of conditions. 
- The response of Ibn ‘Umar (رضى الله عنهما) when he saw one of his sons praying in a single garment. 
- The meaning of the āyah, “O children of Ādam, take your adornment at every masjid…” [Sūrah al-A’rāf 7:31]
- Being eager to give the prayer its due right. 


Questions
1. If a person is afflicted with siḥr and they are not 100% in their speech, actions and thought processes and they utter words of divorce to their wife, is the divorce valid/accepted?
2. If a woman is on her period can she wake up in the last third of the night and supplicate?
3. When do you make the du’ā for leaving the masjid? 
4. My mother is elderly and I am her only son. I have a good job and a spacious home where I can accommodate a wife, however, many sisters reject living with a mother-in-law. Is this attitude correct? 
5. After a lesson in the masjid can I go home and pray Maghrib and ‘Ishā together?
6. Is my dad’s uḍḥiyah enough for me and my wife if we live in the same house?
7. Is it permissible to carry out jumu’ah in a Deobandi masjid as it is closest to my work?
8. I travel from Birmingham to Wolverhampton and Dudley for work, can I combine Ẓuhr and ‘Asr and shorten them?
9. A new muslim falls into sins or bad habits and finds it difficult to carry out obligations and stay away from prohibitions. What do you advise? 
10. Is it permissible to accept a gift from someone you know has partially ḥarām earnings?
11. Question regarding intention in the prayer.
