A Tribe Called Quest - We've Got The Jazz (Stroke remix)

On “Hot Dreams”, the title single off Timber Timbre's third studio album for Arts & Crafts, Taylor Kirk and collaborator Simon Trottier daub vibrant colour across the restless evolution of the band’s earthy, angular palette. Seductive guitars drape over languid synthesizers, animating an otherwise reticent Kirk singing in his singular low intonation. The consonance of Mika Posen’s strings mingle with vintage contributions from Mathieu Charbonneau on keys and Olivier Fairfield on drums. Guest Colin Stetson envelops the backing vocals of Romy Lightman (Tasseomancy, Austra) in timeless cycles of velvet saxophone. The breathtaking video by Scott Cudmore and Michael LeBlanc clearly defines the new space of Hot Dreams' Timber Timbre, slathered in viscous tonality: new sonic admissions, ringing sensuality and caprice, neon and haze. Hot Dreams is Timber Timbre's most fully realized work in a sinuous and infinitely rewarding catalogue of vivid imagistic music.

Jesse Rose whips up two house rollers while Factory Floor do what they do best and turn the track into an explosive dancefloor frenzy.

We have the first spin of the latter's edit and the UK three-piec,e who dazzled with their debut album last year, have littered their edit with claps, rolling basslines and distorted vocals. Check this out.

While he's turned his hand to many different styles of over the years, there's no doubting the efficiency of Jesse Rose's many well-heeled, house-tailored productions. His last album - released on his own Play It Down label - was a keen reminder of a talent that's as revered in the UK as much as it is abroad.

His first LP since he moved to LA some years ago, The Whole Twelve Inches was a fitting reminder that Rose is still more indebted to the warehouse sounds of Berlin and London than it is his all-new Hollywood surroundings. Perhaps bridging this gap however is the Play It Down boss’ new remix of fast rising LA/Berlin 3 piece The Acid’s incoming single ‘Fame’. For the uninitiated, The Acid consists of Ry X, Steve Nalepa, and the ever trailblazing Adam Freeland who have come together to form an outfit with serious pedigree. If that wasn’t somehow enough to get us onboard The Acid hype train then news that their new single would be getting reworks from DT favourites Jesse Rose and Factory Floor certainly did the trick. Due out August 11 courtesy of Infectious Music you can check out Jesse’s re-rub of ‘Fame’ ahead of release above.
