Did this little bootie of PHOENIX - "Everything is Everything" mixed with TODD TERJE's - "Kul i pul" live at home some years ago, because at that time they were two of my favorite tracks (and they still are, they both sound really modern today, too)  and then kinda lost interest and never finsihed it. Played it some weeks ago and people really loved it. Recently I found it in the basement of my computer and thought it might be fun to finish and share it with you, shortly before the new PHOENIX album comes out. My production sounds a bit rough, but hey..... Just enjoy!

Featuring an international cast of artists, I wanted to represent a vast repertoire of work, but still retain the soothing and subtle sound aesthetic that has become synonymous with the label’s musical output. I’ve just returned to Japan from touring Europe and was a little absent-minded when creating the mix due to jetlag. Some people say that sunlight, water, medication, coffee and changing your body temperature can help you beat jetlag. For me it’s about relaxing, and there’s no better way to relax then by listening to music. In a way, this mix is my way of beating jetlag. It’s the perfect mix to unwind to. Trace a Line mix Chloé

I had this idea of doing a spring/summer mix complete with a lazy L.A. daytime disco sunshine vibe, but the wheather surrounding me asks for a autumn mix! Well, maybe my mix will help this thing called summer to arrive in Europe.. This will be a very long "modern L.A. Evening Lazer-Synth-Disco"-mix, because as you can see this is only part 1 and the slow beginning for early evenings. The Late Night-mix will follow soon. If you glue the two parts together you will have a full night on the dancefloor of my dream, going from relaxed to clubby (not too clubby, don't worry..) Guess what part 2 is called...?

L.A. Californian Sunshine Softrock-Disco! Andy Pratt is an American rock music singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. In the 1970s, he made a number of experimental records and scored a commercial hit with Avenging Annie. This, his only discofied track was a minor hit too. It is featured on the 1977 album "Shivers in the night"

Solid Steel (28th June) It's a massive welcome this week to Congo Natty, a well respected and legendary figure in British music who had his first release as Rebel MC in 1988, the same year Solid Steel started. Chart success followed alongside Double Trouble, but he's probably most respected as one of the pioneers of Jungle. His music has always been a firm fixture on Solid Steel, evident in the 1991 Kiss recording we had back in January. Will Ashon from Big Dada talks to him about his extensive career, his new album 'Jungle Revolution' and we get to hear a few classic records that have influenced him over the years. That is followed by a 'Congo Natty live 95' recording that features Ragga Twins, Navigator, MC Dett and DJ SL.

“I had this idea to make a video for ‘A Case For Shame’ which actually ended up informing the entire visual scheme of Innocents. In the video, someone dies – maybe they killed themselves out of a sense of shame – and they enter this other world, populated by these ghost creatures wearing masks. They look scary, but they’re actually covering their face because they’re ashamed. When you see someone wearing a scary mask, the first thought is, “What’s going on? That’s intimidating.” But they’re actually hiding – it’s the most blatant act of concealing oneself. ‘A Case For Shame” is one of two songs I collaborated on with Cold Specks. She’s quite shy, and preferred to be left alone in the studio, so I’d hit ‘record,’ go have some tea, then come back in and press ‘stop.’”

Hatchwork has issued us free download of Shaun Reeve's new tune 'CDV'.

One of the founders of global techno supergroup Visionquest alongside Seth Troxler, Lee Curtiss and Ryan Crosson, Reeves has made his name as one of today's key pioneers of tech-house, producing everything from clinical techno to warmer, atmospheric house. 

The track, a tribute to Berlin's much-loved afterhours hang out (Club der Visionaere), is a deep-set affair rich with textbook elements of house; melodic synths, a reassuring 4/4 rhythm and rolling bassline. With a slick vocal snippet thrown into the mix, the result is an impressive example of Reeve's quality as a producer.
