Snippet of Richard Fearless' next single Gamma Ray on Drone

Brand new single from Death In Vegas frontman Richard Fearless on his Drone imprint. Debut single 'Higher Electronic States' premiered on Dummy, Ransom Note and The Drone.  

Welcome to the second aural outpouring from the world of Drone, the London-based label from producer, artist and Death In Vegas guiding light Richard Fearless, now firmly established as an artist in his own right. Earlier this summer Drone laid down its debut mandate in the form of Fearless' own Higher Electronic States, which picked up plaudits from corners far and wide.
 
Discussing the second single Richard says "With Higher Electronic States I wanted to make a record to end my sets with, Gamma Ray is something much deeper. I wanted to create a timeless stark, minimal, desolate landscape of a track."
 
And he's done just that, creating one of those rare things in electronic music, a song with longevity. A piece of finely crafted techno of the highest order; 
 
"I obsessed over Gamma Ray. spending a week on the drum sound alone". 
 
To make matters all the more enticing he's enlisted the supreme talent that is Legowelt to rework the track. Stripping it back further to its core elements this is pure heads music from Danny Wolfers, another extreme audiophile. The depth, texture and atmosphere he injects into the track completes what is an exceptional and significant second release from Drone.  
 
"I feel like I've made the record that is true to this vision." We wouldn't disagree.
 
Having recently taken in part in an RBMA lecture in their Russian headquarters and an appearance at the hallowed turf of Golden Pudel planned for later in the year, the world of Richard Fearless and Drone is in its ascendancy.
 
Dancefloor distortion and other musical explorations, created in the Metal Box, Drone releases oscillations in many forms, further transmissions incoming.

Following on from this Spring’s infectious, enslaving ear-worm ‘Don't Take My Soul’ and her plastic pop-funk summer anthem ‘Mission Desire’, self-propelled DIY anti-diva Jane Weaver humbly celebrates the end of the most industrious festival season in her twenty year career leaving audiences happy they ticked that "must-see" box, and euphoric in the rays of her set-list finale, ‘I Need A Connection’.

Originally composed as a bonus track for Jane's unanimously revered self-released The Silver Globe LP, this syncopated synth-triggered slice of cinematic silicone soul has become a stand-out track and live show favourite. Condensing subliminal influences of a filmic Stuart Copeland, Suzanne Ciani, Bowie's B-side of Low, a female Simple Minds cover band and an entire record fair wall of rare Krautrock unknowns into one Arpish, anthemic, unrequited liquid love song.

As Jane's energy reserves blend into this October's month long solo UK tour, ‘I Need A Connection’ is close to becoming the most requested track of her live diary. Performing what is possibly the most recommended independent solo-female release in European record stores this year, and never once failing to justify its praise, Weaver's repeat prescription of pulsating progressive pop and gossamer touch-button folk begs for radio redial and stands as a genuine inspiration to self-help femme pop outfits which deserves a CONNECTION with a wider worldly audience. Forget Puss in Boots, the Cheshire Cat or Grumpy Cat. Meet Karlsson, who receives a colorful tribute by Perel on her first record for the Dresden-based label Uncanny Valley. After all, there is nothing better than the soothing purr of your own personal tomcat to come down from exhausting DJ gigs and studio sessions.

The title track is a fiery excursion into rave heaven covered with Italo-flags. While Perel goes manta-like about a diet for KARLSSON, listeners are wrapped in anthemic synths. MONTEIRO DA COSTA on the other hand is a paranoid love letter to Perel’s best friend and a lesson in causing dance mania. The synths continue to spiral upwards to the point where there is no coming back.

On the flipside, KARLSSON gets the remix treatment twice. First, BLOODY MARY tucks him into a compelling and classic acid corset. KIM ANN FOXMAN then recreates Karlsson as a toy robot that just discovered house music.
