"Real Estate" is one of two hidden tracks on Central Intelligence's the 2001 CD C.I.. It is one of the most vivid and passionate accounts of the gentrification of Seattle's oldest and defining black American neighborhood, the Central District. The track is also part of a tradition that begins with “The Swan” by Charles Baudelaire, the first work of art to express the politics and trauma of massive urban renewal (regeneration) projects. "Real Estate" captured a process that began heating up around 1995 and briefly  cooled after the crash of 2008.

This track, which was conceived by Charles (Natural Selekta) Mudede and produced by DJ Shingi, is based on "Yèkèrmo Sèw (A Man of Experience and Wisdom)," an Ethio-jazz tune that's composed by Mulatu Astatke and opens the compliation Éthiopiques, Vol. 4.

This is the sixth track of a project I have been working on with two producers, Wizdumb and DJ Shingi, since 2010 called Without Cinema. This track is inspired by the anime masterpiece Ghost in the Shell (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jHnwWXcar0). 

The final two tracks of this work will be added this summer. 

The Hong Kong Connection

This is the seventh track in my hiphop cinema project: Without Cinema. The sample was selected by me and the beats are by the great and wonderful Bean One. I hope to have this work done by January. (The sample is from a French film that went nowhere, Inferno.)
