Artichokes Are Yellow presents our third Garden Sampler featuring 4 amazing artists,  two of them returning from our remix compilation with new releases on our label!

Excited to welcome MAGNVM! to our label for the first time! Evening birds is is a wonky tech groover with high-energy synths and rhythmical vocal chops that make this track all the more weird and fun. This track is a perfect after-party banger that will keep the energy high and the vibes fun.

Welcoming Rich DietZ back to our label on an amazing collab with Phoneks. Madonna is a badass tech house banger with a catchy vocal hook and a groovy deep bass line. This track screams modern/new age with just enough weird ear candy and textures that make this track out of the box memorable. 

We are so happy that Screechy is joining our label for the first time with this minimalist heater called 'I Move'. The talking vocal is enjoyably soft and haunting, which contrasts the low-end sub in melodic harmony. Play this out on a big sound system to enjoy the heavy sub and danceable groove in all of its glory.

Eveningperple is back on Artichokes Are Yellow with a tech house heavy hitter called '212'. This track is full of fat synths and a droning bass line. The bass line gives this track a lift of high energy and fills out the low end of this track in a simplistic yet harmonious way.

To follow on from a momentous 2022, Aaron Jackson is once again back at it among the 3000 Deep ranks, delivering a sizzling selection to kickstart the spring in style, unleashing a vibrant display of official remixes, alongside a weighty new single. As an original creation, ‘Giving Up’ tows the line perfectly between future techno and gnarly bass music, fusing subtle reeses with catchy vocal leads from start to finish.

We are then introduced firstly to GiddiBangBang’s rethink, a low ended thumper, jam packed with bulbous bass line energy, followed by the groovy moog sweeps and eerie atmospheric melodies of Bass Odysseys overhaul, next to the more clubland-inspired euphoria of Footwurk's jive-ridden overhaul. Finally, GECHA unleashes a monster of a UK Bass remix to round things off fusing angelic synthesis with lethal bass-driven leads for a fiery finale.

Aaron Jackson - Giving Up [Bass Odyssey Remix]

Since Kyle moved out of South Africa there's been a hole in the country - a hole left to be filled with gritty, bass-driven house music. Who's going to fill this gap you ask? Well we think we may have the answer: Advent! These tracks are so big we had to FedEx them to Australia. We even had to pay full postage upfront, but it was worth it. 

The lead track Fear has been tried and tested by the BOC crew over the past 6 months and it slammmss! It's one of those records that fills the dance floor. The flip Take It Slow is a chunky fidget-esque record straight from the blog house era. As the A1's may know, we get rather randy when the word 'fidget' gets mentioned. 

Advent has a real knack for writing fun, quirky yet danceable records and we are so happy to nurture his return!

Cued up for the second release on the new imprint No Context is this spicy number from Kyle Watson featuring London-based South African-based artist Evida.

There's a story behind this one. Originally written as part of a separate project, Lost went through eight (yes, eight) previous versions. Rewritten so many times that Kyle apparently started humming it in his sleep, Lost is the perfect example of why you should never give up on those older projects.

Fully embracing the 'works at home as well as in the club' ethos of No Context, Lost is a crossover record anchored around an attention-grabbing fluttering synth. Tight writing and vocal delivery from Evida only elevates the record and is the icing on an already sweet cake. This one feels like an evolution in Kyle's sound, and personally we love to hear it.
