Silvio Aquila - A Tribute To Brooklyn Bounce
[This is part 1 of 2]

Brooklyn Bounce is one of the many pseudonyms of Matthias Menck and Dennis Bohn, two House DJ's from Germany.
With their project "Brooklyn Bounce" they received gold and platinum records all over the world and they rank along side artists such as Scooter and 666. Menck and Bohn work solely in the studio and are not part of the Brooklyn Bounce live act. Instead, the group was fronted by several different vocalists and dancers, who have collaborated with the two German producers throughout the years. The list includes René "Diablo" Behrens who was also the front person of 666, Ulrica Bohn who is originally from Sweden, Gothenburg but married with Dennis Bohn since many years, Alejandra Cuevas-Moreno and Stephen "Damon" Zschope.

They released 10 albums on Sony BMG and Edel Records. In January 2011, they released their eleventh album entitled "BB-Styles" which contains all their singles from 1996 - 2006, including new remixes by artists such as Headhunterz, Technoboy, Empyre One, Thomas Petersen. It also includes a special DVD.

A Tribute To Brooklyn Bounce [1]

Ein sehr druckvolles Technoset, das sich wie ein pulsierendes Inferno aus bassgetriebenen Frequenzen entfaltet und die Luft zum Vibrieren bringt. Es beginnt mit tiefen, rollenden Kickdrums, die Bassline schleicht sich langsam in die Gehörgänge, wächst mit jeder Sekunde und nimmt euch mit in einen Strudel aus subsonischen Wellen.

Darüber flimmern stets präzise arrangierte Hi-Hats und scharfe Claps, die wie das Zischen einer entfesselten Maschine klingen. Die Synths gleiten dann in eine hypnotische Melodie – stetig und doch mit einer unerbittlichen Intensität. Eine Grollwelle aus verzerrten Vocals und dicken, hallenden Stabs entsteht. Jeder Beat ist wie ein Schlag des Metronoms des Universums, während die melodischen Elemente sich in einer kontinuierlichen, fließenden Spirale winden.

Das Set treibt immer weiter, bis die Energie ekstatisch explodiert. Eine treibende Kraft, das Gefühl, von einer Welle elektrischer Entladung erfasst zu werden, eine nahezu perfekte Balance aus hypnotischem Groove und unbändiger Dynamik, die sich nie ganz auflöst, sondern stetig nach oben treibt.

Marky is also related to the Aktzent Bookings and the Owner of the Classic Techno Label HörspielMusik and Utils, which many of You know very good, we think. The Exclusiv Set from Marky for us is an absolutely great two Hours Live Vinyl Set, recorded here in Kassel at September 15th at the new upbuilded Club A.R.M. , also on the stage on this night was the great legendary Dj Tanith and Marky self said, that he had a lot of Fun by playing this Set on this night. We have mentioned it at the beginning of this text, that it is for us a very Big Pleasure & Honor, that Marky was so Kind to send us this Set exclusively. For those of You, who have readed my Exclusiv Interview for www.twenty1five.de , will know, that the Stammheim Kassel was the Club, where i had so many great Parties with Marky and also with Dj Pierre, God Bless him, for over seven glorious years of Party, Impression and with some of the greatest Dj's on this Planet, like Major Dj Rush, Chris Liebing and Richie Hawtin, to name only three.
