From my first solo piano album in 1985, "Songs Unspoken" on the now deceased Meadowlark Label. Recorded on Chick Corea's beautiful Hamburg Steinway D from Germany. This was at his studio (Mad Hatter) in Silver Lake (a hilly neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles, California). Recorded buy Bernie Kirsh and assisted by Ira Cord Rubnitz. Produced by my dear friend Peter York. Songs Unspoken was basically improvised with little road maps on the piano. Douglas Trowbridge (my middle names) was my pseudonym for this album. At that time I was also releasing an electronic album called "Heirborne" and the Meadowlark was concerned about confusion in the dual releases. One last note. I broke the fourth finger on my left hand several days prior to the two day recording. I would get an anesthetic injection to numb the pain before recording. The cover was nominated for best cover of the year but was beat out by Miles Davis beautiful "Tutu" cover.

I capture music from another realm where I have no idea where it is, it could be the home where my soul came from, but for now, my soul is trapped in a human body on earth. 

When the music comes to me I just have to write it down. Maybe I am just an interpreter between my soul home and this physical world.
