UK based Techno producer best known by his work on the Belgium based Token Records and whose style ranges from gritty minimal techno to Detroit influenced material. Originally a Mastering engineer, Ø[Phase] began producing as a sideline, releasing his debut 'Module Overload' on Steve Bicknell's Lost/Cosmic records in 2000. This was followed by a string of productions for London's Surface/Inceptive Records and Ben Sims Ingoma imprint, all of which saw consistent big name support throughout the techno community. He started working with Token in 2007 and since then his music has progressively gained more & more worldwide attention - most significantly on 2012's much acclaimed 'Binary Opposition' single and subsequent 'Reprocessed' remix package. Recent times have seen him remix for the likes of Robert Hood, Peter Van Hoesen & Mark Broom amongst others while avid support from Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock have led to several appearances at Berghain in Berlin. The Nursery’s seventh release sees another newcomer: it’s Violent. A truly promising DJ and producer from Poland, rapidly making a name for himself as a pusher of rough, breakbeat induced techno. Stressful Environment contributes to that persona. It is a fierce composition of peak time tracks, that at times hint towards industrial, while preserving a certain melancholy. It is largely this combination that makes these tracks complement each other so well. The muscular foundation gives them their power; an enlightening fragility keeps them from becoming mere stompers. With that, Violent has put together an impressive piece of contemporary techno that will most likely see the inside of many clubs in the months to come. The ‘Stressful Environment EP’ is bound to make the name Violent stick around for a while.

It’s been a while since we released a V/A on Noir Music and I only ever compile them whenever I feel I have 5-6 tracks that stand out.

Dark Stars Volume 4 has been 6 months in the making and yes..... I know I am picky with the music I sign. I hear that on an almost daily basis.
But even though I could pick music from many different artists it still took me months of compiling, testing the music in clubs and at festivals and then putting together the tracks I felt stood out and complimented each other.

The great thing about V/A’s is that you get the chance to put together a release from artists with completely different sounds and ideas.
Although the sound of Dark Stars Volume 4 is quite minimal sounding overall, it still reflects musicality and great in-depth productions by skillful and experienced artists.
Another great thing about Volume 4 is that these are all artists who make their debut on Noir Music.

I truly love playing every single track from this release and I enjoy watching the crowds reactions around the globe.
I feel no need to get deeper into detail about the specific tracks, as the music will speak for itself.
