When one is asked to name their top five underground emcees, within the Toledo area, it would not be surprising for the name 'Mugsy Mahonney' to be mentioned on their list. While supporters & other hip hop artist have labeled the Asian emcee as one of the greatest to NEVER do it (lacking mainstream following), there is no denying the impact that he has made on the Underground Hip Hop scene during his rollercoaster ride of a career. Since his debut release in 2002 of "In Due Time", under his self established record label "Dot Boy Inc." & former alias 'PdotC', he has grabbed the attention of fans across the city and within the tri-state area in his conquest to restore Hip Hop to it's truest form. His discography includes In Due Time(2002), Methodz Mixtape 101, A Black Tie Affair, Relentless, Dot Boy Nation Compilation, & Best Kept Secret(2011)....'So why the name change?' "It was a very strategic marketing move for me. This game has evolved from sellin cassette tapes/cds out yo trunk, to streaming your music globaly on the net, not to mention 'EVERYBODY' raps now. So when somebody Googles or Youtubes your name, you better have that #1 spot or nobody's goin' know who you are or even know how to find your material!" Mugsy Mahonney is a very punchline savvy & versatile spitter, almost like a Philly/New York feel to him with a BOSS like swagger.
