Zodiac Childs

It is all about timing; with their debut album "Atoms To Atoms" across three stunning pieces of vinyl coming later this month, the timing is perfect for a 55min mix with a good few unreleased/up and coming tracks from Zodiac Childs and some of their favourite artists alongside tried and tested heaters old and new. 

Zodiac Childs channels the spirit of UK hardcore; sonically leaning on the sounds of electro, classic breaks and techno. They tend to take their audience on a journey across the entire nightlife experience, from atmospheric opener to the energy of abandoned northern English factories and mills, rusted and empty yet filled by 303 basslines. 

With otherworldly EP releases on Exalt, Further Electronix and their own Zodiac Wax they will now finally add to their impressive discography with their new LP:

The latest release on Manjumasi comes from the young German producer Daniel Karger aka Bookwood. Bookwood is not a stranger here at Delayed. After a string of notable releases on imprints such as URSL, Kindisch, and Cosmic Society, we are happy to see his latest EP landing on Manjumasi, the record label run by Atish, Mark Slee, and Naveen G.
With 'What I think About' EP, Bookwood showcases his sensitive approach to composition and production, smoothly blending indie-pop electronica vibes with a more dancefloor aware deep house sensibility.
 
Our premiere for today is a remix of the title track by our fellow New Yorker and the staple of the local underground music scene, Naveen G. The remix is carefully constructed with intricate details that, when paired with rumbling sub bassline and haunting vocals, raise the dancefloor energy level and create a track that will for sure be one of the summer favorites.

Welcome to Episode 194 on Poisonoise Music with this mammoth 200 minute set coming in from Dutch based artist Rugon.  

Story Arc: (time, style, drive, depth)
  
First hour: 121BPM Deep dubby techno, first subdued, further on more pronounced. 
Mid section: 123BPM Works it's way towards a vibe that could be defined as dub-tech-minimal. 
While grunchy chords are still in dub and stabbing into the deep, the beats and bass become groovy and dancefloor friendly. 
Ends as deep as it started, the very end almost flows into ambient soundscapes but the last track (by Rugon) prevents it and with that it (the track Şofer) concludes the voyage by 
steadily flowing on and away towards the deep immaculate.

﻿Lunar Shadow’s second incarnation comes by the way of the talented Luke Hess [DeepLabs/Echocord/FXHE].  Lunar Shadows finds new life with its forceful techno pattern.  Gritty, warm chords layer themselves over an insistent rhythm while off beat micro-organisms keep stride. Gentle pads envelop and grow in authority, weaving their way through the groove, creating power, tension and intensity - consequently leading Lunar Shadows to become an everlasting memory before finally waning and leaving you wanting for more.

Over the ages the Moon has helped us describe everything from rarity, love and lunacy. This release is another interpretation by us to the overstanding sphere in the sky.

In an unconventional approach, this is our first EP where not only Hungarian artists are released, We opened tha gates for international producers now also. We thought that there would be one such occasion each year, closing the years in a similar way.
This time Anton Kubikov and TM Shuffle were our international guests and the label heads, 7mirror and Viktor MATO made a collaboration.

Nicola Cruz is an electronic producer, musician and DJ. Born in Limoges, France, to proud South American descent, he lives and works in Quito, Ecuador, the heart of the Andes.

Nicola started his career as a percussionist. He developed an early interest in electronic music and swiftly moved on to DJing. His music draws from a broad variety of sources, while remaining deeply personal in nature. Nicola’s main source of inspiration is his passion for the land of his ancestors. In the past few years he has embarked on a soulful journey through the Andean landscape, its culture, rituals and rhythms. His work conveys a yearning for the great outdoors, a quest for the spiritual. It radiates awareness, vision and deep understanding. His music is exuberant, organic, ritualistic, mysterious, hypnotic, slowly rising in ecstatic escalation. Based on a minimal use of resources, it is percussion oriented but profoundly melodic. He employs a skillful mix of acoustic and ambience recording, sampling and synthesizing. He often works with like-minded musicians, making collaboration into a distinctive part of his creative process.

He has expressed a major interest in sonic exploration. He has worked in diverse projects, such as sound installations, ambience recording and film soundtracks.
