It's Always Coffee and Cigarettes for Breakfast

The Danish alternative rock band HalfCutLemon will release the single "Ointment" from their forthcoming album "This Ain't Real" on 23 May. A powerful mix of punk energy and melodic melancholy, the song explores the insecurities of youth and the ways in which people mask their vulnerability - be it through religion, aesthetics or social identity.

Formed out of a shared love of raw emotion and genre-bending storytelling, HalfCutLemon fuses post-punk grit with cinematic textures. Their forthcoming album, including the new track 'Ointment', was produced by the legendary Flemming Rasmussen at Sweet Silence Studio.

"Ointment" also features a stellar cast of guest contributors. Danish underground icon Peter Peter adds second vocals and, together with acclaimed composer Peter Kyed, contributes cello and strings to enhance the song's emotional middle section.

The new drum and bass song "Sugar Mama" sung by Elianne.
It's very fast at 174 bpm and features twelve synthesizers.
I layered and doubled the vocals slightly with a vocoder.
The melody synthesizer is the sound of Lucky Man and wafts back and forth between the speakers.

Inspired by Ben returning to Gozo in the summer where he had lived as a child, and immediately falling in love with the place and its memories. This is the first single from new EP,  The Norfkl Tapes, due for release 10th October, which will be released on vinyl, featuring 8 tracks recorded in Norfolk and Norfolk border. All songs on EP and accompanying free 14 track CD produced by Jack Murphy (Youth Killed It) and Rhys Downing (co-writer The Last Dinner Party).
