I-Bari’s newest single, “Mine Tonight” seamlessly blends whine-inducing dancehall rhythms and smooth afro-pop sounds into a sleek track that dives into a groove as soon as the beat drops. Building on both the sounds and sentiments from his 2018 album Nobody Special,  I-Bari delivers this song just in time for a warmer day, longer nights, and with global lockdown conditions slowly lifting, more time in the jam to act on long-held feelings. “You’ve been worth it from time” he sings in the bridge, “it’s been harder to see sometimes/ but baby girl I promise to make up time.”  Produced collaboratively by Virgin Island natives, JMTB (Jeaucar Made The Beat), and Yarico Beats, the song transports its listener to the islands where “the vibes are right” and dreamy desires can be made into tangible reality. “Mine Tonight” anticipates I-Bari’s upcoming project, Carib-Pop Vol. 1, and showcases the vitality of his distinct style as a singer and songwriter.
